Beer Saturday : Returning to PsuedoSue

My share for the #beersaturday, as inspired by @detlev.

Yesterday was a perfect day to sit in our backyard and test out the new solar filters I grabbed for my Dward 2 telescope. I bought this scope off of Kickstarter about a year ago, and with the eclipse coming through this Monday, I thought was the perfect time to test out the new filters. With a beer, of course.

And my best friend who loves to keep me company in the backyard, Ms. Mabel.

I've written about this beer before, and it is one of my favorites! Directly from Iowa, this is a classic hazy IPA that always delivers. When fresh, of course, and the fill date on this can was less than a month old. Sign me up for hoppy goodness!

With the weather good and the skies clear, I set the telescope up to start stacking and tracking the sun to test out the filter. To get a solid 100 + images to let the program stack them, I knew I could get two Sues down...and I did! Goal achieved!

And how did the new filters work out for sun photography? Not bad...the setup was as such:

After a few experiments and firmware updates, the image I managed was pretty cool:

Now that I'm set up to track the Sun tomorrow, I'm guessing we'll get clouds and rain. That seems to be the way it works with my luck, but maybe we'll get some open skies tomorrow afternoon.
