HI! ANNYEONG! KONNICHIWA Hivers! I am Angel and welcome to my first intro blog.

My full name is Angel J. Ugsimar, but you may call me Gel. I am 21 years old and currently living in Liloan, Cebu. I am a third-year college student at Cebu Technological University – Danao Campus, taking the program of Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management or BSHM. To be honest, BSHM is not really my dream course, but God has other plans. After a year of taking this program, I learned to love it. I enjoyed cooking, baking, making cocktails, and act like a front desk receptionist. Aside from that BSHM has a wide variety of jobs opportunities which I loved the most. I am also a NCII holder of Bartending, Food and Beverage, Professional Hotel Front Office Course, and Bread and Pastry. These certificates are proof that I am competent. It can also help me find job easily once I am in our industry.

My passion and interest are singing and dancing. Since I was a kid, I always love singing and dancing. I used to join singing contest in our barangay every time there’s a fiesta. I also like dancing. I started liking dancing when I saw my sister practicing their dance performance, I remembered their song that time was STARSHIPS BY NICKI MINAJ. After that, I sometime join them in there practiced and started dancing since then. In my University, I have performed three competitions which are Cheer dance Competition, Duyog, and Superbowl. In Duyog, it was a by section performance. I was one of the six singers that time, and the rest of our classmates are backup dancers or support. We won the third place, and we were still happy regardless of we won or not because our efforts and sleepless nights has paid off. In Superbowl competition, I was supposed to be one of the singers again, but I refused and decided to be one of the backup dancers. This competition is by department, we performed this during our acquaintance party, and we were announced as the champion that time.
My hobbies and interest are reading books/manhwa/anime, listening to music, and watching anime or movies. I started reading books when I discovered Wattpad, an app where you can find all different genres of books are. My favorite author is Jonaxx, I have read her works and it was amazing. My favorites are the Alegria Girls Series and Costa Leona Series, those are the books that I never get tired of re-reading. I started watching anime when my friend recommended Kiss Him, Not Me. It’s an anime were a fat girl suddenly losses weight and she gained attention from four boys. After that, I started watching romance anime and a few actions anime.

Listening to music has been my everyday therapy. I listen to music every time I go to school and when I go home. I feel frustrated sometimes whenever I forgot to bring my wired headset; I don’t use earphones because I prefer wired headset more. I started reading mahwa when a discovered BL, ever since I discovered Bl I rarely read straight manhwas, which I don’t regret until now. In movies my favorites genres are comedy, fantasy, and horror. Every time we watch a movie, I would always recommend watching zombies or horror, I even tell my friends that if I became an actress my first movie should be about zombie apocalypse, next is a fantasy movie like Alice in Wonderland, third movie should be about Sharks. My friends would laugh at me every time I mention it to be because it was weird, but to be honest I just wanted to test my survival skills when I’m in that kind of situation. I kind of think that I might be obsessed, or paranoid of zombies cause wherever I am, I always check the emergency exit or a possible escape plan if there will be a sudden zombie apocalypse. Weird right? hahaha better safe than not.

Aside from my hobbies, I am also a pet lover. I love dogs, cats, rabbit, hamster, those sheep’s and goat in TikTok, parrots, and even a miniature fluffy cow. I even dream to have a house with a big farm style backyard to put those animals there and live a happy life. Tho, I never seen a parrot and miniature fluffy cow, but I dream to have one someday. My sister used to have two shih tzu dogs before. The first one was named Sassy, she was girl and very clingy. Unfortunately, she died on my grandma’s birthday. The second dog was Toffee, he was a boy, and we name him toffee because his fur color was like a coffee. He was rehomed because toffee accidentally bit me, and my dad didn’t like it. Then my sister impulsively rehomed toffee even though I was okay since it was just an accident.
I joined Hive for the reason to have extra income since as what I’ve mentioned earlier, I’m still a student. And what I really like about this is that it’s like a diary where I get that chance to express myself, share my experiences and journey in life. I get to show other people what kind of person I am, my personalities, and my hobbies. I can also share here my achievements in life and what are my struggles on accomplishing them. Its really like an online diary but you get paid on your blogs.

The person who introduced me Hive is my classmate Charm Ashley. We were groupmates in one of our subjects, we were at her house when she told us about Hive. She said that it’s a blogging site where you get paid on what you write, and you need to follow some steps in order to join Hive community. After that, I ask questions on how to join and she added us in a group chat for orientation. Thats, were I found out that some of our classmates are there too.

I attended the orientation on May 1, 2025, that was hosted by Miss Je-ann Fuentes. The orientation started at 8:10 pm and during the orientation she explained to us what Hive all is about, the benefits that we will get, how hive works, and others stuff that we need to learn about Hive community. After the orientation, I was more eager to be part of Hive community.
What I can contribute to Hive is to share my experiences to others and for them to learn from my story. To learn different stories in life and help create a positive community where each one of us support each other through blogging.
