“There is no normal life that is free of pain. It’s the very wrestling with our problems that can be the impetus for our growth.”— Fred Rogers

Hello, my dear hive friends! How are you this time? I hope you all have a sound mind and healthy bodies. Well, as for me, I'm a little bit exhausted lately because of some important concerns to attend to such as the ongoing national learning camp, GSP training hosting, Brigada Kick-off preparation, completing clearance requirements, going to the laboratory, check-up and doctors' consultation.

Talking of Dr. Consultation, last Wednesday I have been to the Cebu Provincial Hospital outpatient department to consult a doctor about my laboratory results. This is in connection with our yearly check-up required by the Department of Education. I went to the hospital very early so that I can go home early too. I am the number one patient but I am out of the hospital's Outpatient Department by 11:40 since the consultation started after the short program.

The short program was done in connection with the Nationwide Celebration of Hospital Week 2023
with the theme "Sulong Kalusugan Hospital Maasahan". As part of the celebration, they conducted an information drive or an orientation on various topics for all their patients. One of these topics was Mental Health Awareness. If our physical aspect is healthy but our mental health is not healthy, therefore, we cant say that we are healthy. It can't be denied that sometimes we may be out of our minds especially when we feel stress, worry, and anxiety since as long as we are still alive, we face several challenges, problems, or difficulties in our life. Therefore we must have a coping mechanism on how to, fight these challenges to maintain our good mental health.

The speakers of the orientation or info drive were the Chef Doctor of the hospital and the chef nurse of OPD. The topics discussed were all about what is mental health, common mental health disorders, signs and symptoms, reframing negative thoughts, creating a supportive environment and loving yourself first, and the importance of seeking professional help.

After the discussion, the speaker shared her true-to-life story about a situation where one member of her family needs professional help. She shared that situation, for us the audience to be open and accept every situation that might happen.

After the discussion was a raffle. Their prizes were all a large bottle of shampoo. Im not lucky on that day since I haven't received a prize buts it's okay since for me the learnings I got from the day's information drive were immeasurable.

Right after the short program, the consultation resumed. Even If I waited several hours but my day was still productive and fruitful, Thanks to the facilitator and speakers for sharing these very important topics and concerns of every individual. I would like to congratulate the team for conducting successfully the information drive.

That's all for this blog, Thank you for reading. God bless

It would surely be a productive day for you. On the issue of mental health there is little discussion but I am happy to see that people are taking interest in talking and opening up the mental health issues.

I agree with you, my friend. I am interested in this topic because this must be the concern of everybody esp. as a mother and a teacher as well.
