Embarking on Hive: My Self-introduction

Hello everyone! I'm a newbie here. Have a good day, and I hope that you'll have a great day ahead with your family and friends. Today is the day that I will be sharing some of my stories or memories and having fun here in Hive. I'm so excited to do it. Let's get started!

Hi, I'm Angel Mae Empleo, 22 years old, and the second eldest of five siblings. My brother is deaf, and he is my mother's son from her maiden days. Despite his condition, he is incredibly responsible. He has completed his elementary education and is currently a seventh-grade student at the same school where I completed my senior high school, San Isidro National High School.

Anyway, I am currently residing in Davao Oriental, but for now, I'm here in Toledo City province. Would you like to know why? Well, way back since the pandemic in 2019 when I thought about getting a job because I hadn't been able to take the entrance exam for college, but mom didn't let me because we don't know the places there. So I didn't force myself, and since mom wasn't at home because we were the only siblings at home, I would take care of them because mom is still at work and she only comes home every week, and sometimes she can't even come home.

It's very difficult for us because we haven't had a father since 2015, and only my mother works for us. To keep the story short, in 2020, I moved to Davao City. I started working as a helper in a house and tutoring a child from nursery 1 to preschool. I am a nanny to three children, and it is difficult for me because their house is big, and I am the only one who will do everything. Sometimes I have become their mother when their parents are not around. Of course, I laugh even though I'm so tired and they still can't see my value in taking care of the children and cleaning the house.

But the children sometimes make me laugh, even though they are naughty kids. There was a time when they asked me if I wanted to be a working student, and I immediately answered yes so that no one else would think about my mother's tuition for me, so I immediately enrolled, and I was nervous at that time because I was in a private school, and I was still working. I thought that I might not be able to handle it. But so far, when the classes start, I've been able to handle it, and I'm working hard so that I don't get embarrassed. Thankfully, I passed.

From the first year, I passed everything, but my problem was that I was in a different subject that I didn't enroll in, so I was very sad at that time. They told me that I was an irregular student because I had a subject that I was not enrolled in. But I recovered, and I didn't lose hope. When I enrolled in the 2nd year, I made sure that all the subjects that I did not enroll in the first year would be enrolled. Then, by the grace of God, I enrolled in everything, and I passed all of them, starting from the 1st semester and ending in the 2nd semester. In 2023, I finished the 2nd year (BECED) of my Bachelor of Early Childhood Education. After that, I decided to leave because I got anxious.

It's very difficult for me, so I went home. This year, I stopped studying. But next year, I will study again. For now, I'm just staying at the house of my mother-in-law. But it's not a big deal to my mom because she let me know that my boyfriend would send me back to school. I am very thankful because my mother-in-law is kind. My mom is also thankful. She treated me like her own child and they didn't leave me when my anxiety was attacking me.

MY HOBBIES

I watch dramas and horror movies, and I like listening to music and watching Filipino movies because that's my hobby when I relax or I'm bored. When I was still in high school, I really liked to watch K-dramas because I felt their emotions more, and that's why until now, they have been my companions. I also like horror movies. Then I tend to listen to music, especially when I am alone, and of course, when I want to relax. Because not always is someone with you, and I also fall asleep easily when I listen to music. Aside from that, I also like watching Filipino movie series because those are relaxing, and apart from that, you can learn a lesson from the movies.

WHY AM I JOINING HIVE?
I joined because I can meet other people and hope for different stories about their life or read about their experiences. And of course, I also want to share the story of my life here and share the same interest with other people in Hive. I'd love to engage with you here guys, and to people of the same interest as mine. Aside from that, I can also create memories here. Then I want to enhance my writing skills.

HOW DID I KNOW HIVE?
My sweetest friend and sister-in-law, the humble @gracialicious is the one who invited or introduced me to Hive. I was amazed and curious about this, so I told her that if there's a chance to join, I would join because I want to be a blogger, and here I can share my thoughts and feelings. I was amazed and thankful to @jeannmazing for conducting an orientation on March 24, 2024, because she was the one who discussed everything about Hive last Sunday that was supported by OCD. I'm grateful to know about this online community.
