Working hard before well-deserved Vacation Time!

in Hive PH8 days ago (edited)

Hello Hive friends! I am currently in the Philippines, my first vacation after a full year, yeah! Finally, after waiting a whole year I can visit my parents, who are living near Davao, my son in Manila and also meet my younger sister again. I missed them all so much! Ich chose May for this journey as it's the birth month of my son.
The trip from Hong Kong to Davao has been quite a hassle: My first flight from Hong Kong to Manila started at 6 p.m. and the connection flight to Davao was planned to start at 3 a.m. ... But you hear it right, the second flight has been delayed to 8:20 a.m. the next morning which means I had to stay and wait the whole night in the airport of Manila!
But now I am finally back home and looking forward for a nice and relaxing time together with my family!
And yes, if time allows I will write more about my vacation soon!

But before letting you enjoy my vacation experiences there has to be one more post about my hard work: before I left I had to clean the complete house of my employer ... to vacuume and mop all rooms of altogether 4000 square feet, cleaning the windows (that's what my shoulders hate most!), making the beds, washing, ironing and folding the laundry, dedust the plants and the toys of the children of my employer and many more tasks. That meant many hours of work devided on several days, while even on the last day before my departure I spent more than 5 hours with cleaning.

No wonder that later in the evening when I was chatting with a friend he asked me worriedly why I am always so exhausted and sometimes having some headache as well after work? ... And after I told him the reason he said I would probably be somewhat too perfectionist and dutiful ("Just do your work in a more economical way, don't worry if not always everything is 100 % perfect! Especially considering not to get a very high salary for what you are doing.").

Partly I had to agree, especially as cleaning is nothing which leads to my personal progress (by teaching me anything new or inspire my creativity, like for example my side job of selling food) - it's nothing more or less than honest hard work which helps me to survive.

On the other hand it's just my personality which tells me to do every work thoroughly and well as soon as I agreed to do it. I have a contract and want fulfil my part of it in a satisfying way!
I want to make sure that the house is clean and comfortable when I leave for vacation for a rather long time! Does that sound good and fair? I would say: "Yes!" What do you think? Are you on the same page as me? It's a good feeling and worth it to leave my home clean and find it still to be clean when I come back!

Now I show you some pictures of the house after I cleaned and tidied everything - enjoy the house!!!

I think in the end your health should always have the highest priority. No loyality to your employer should justify working until exhustion.

Nice that you are having vacations now - enjoy! :)

Thank you so much @jaki01... I appreciate your kindness...

I am so happy for you! Well deserved and congratulations. Being an OFW is not an easy job and I salute you especially you are away from your parents. Enjoy and take care always.

You are right, it is not always easy but I always try to be thankful for what life has to offer. Thank you so much for you nice comment!

yes, u deserve vacay.. after 1 year.. thats a lot. 😎🤙🌈🌈

I get a fixed salary from my main employer and apart from that take 100 HKD per hour. But now I am very happy to have vacations finally and need not to clean anything for quite a while hehe.

Nice! quite more than u could get in PH. 😉✌️
