The creating the concept of Historicade!

Game development is one of the subjects or assets of Computer Science. It is a building of a game using certain software that can deploy through a phone or desktop. In computer science, we knew that there is a time when we will encounter making a game application and it happened during our first semester in Game Development 1. In our second semester, there is a continuation subject called Game Development 2, but it is by a different instructor, and he introduced us to the basic introduction of Game development but first, he presented us what is the meaning of the game itself. Unlike our instructor in game development 1, she skipped introducing and assigned us to make an RPG game. On this subject a learned a lot even though I am already a gamer still it caught my interest that there is a lot of other types of genre in games usually I play the genre of FPS (first-person shooting) and MOBA. But then he introduced us to other types at first, I did not know to understand the type of it but when he gave an example of a game of a certain genre, I understand it because I already played it, I just did not know. He then skipped on game development, he asked us how the game was actually made, and who made it and then he introduced us to the game development team. There are 6 teams to think it is only an application, but it was built with 6 teams, not including the members of it he also said that it takes time to develop a functional game it can up to years because he already made a game during his master. That is why he is so eager to teach us to create a game and he did it!

After the discussion, he told us that our midterm will be divided into two. One will be written and the other is our own game proposal he told us that it will be an educational game for children raging from 7 to 13 years old. During the discussion an idea already popped into my brain, I always loved history even though some people find it boring but for me, it is not because history stores our memory, and it made an important role to help our country to be known. While our professor instructs what will be the content of our proposal, I am also listing the possible outcome of my idea. My idea was an educational game application about our Philippine history. For me I choose history because children even some people lacked knowledge about our country's history it is the result of the lack ness of teaching history in our school and some people discard the information about this kind of topic, I am not generalizing I am using my observation.

In making the game proposal. Making a proposal took me a lot of time because I did not have the time to finalize my proposal because I am also working and had travel to manage my time. But then I made it on the time of passing it during our midterm. The proposal contains the User Interface and the actual game itself. I used adobe photoshop to make my UI and the idea of what the game will be when it deploys on the phone. I struggle a lot in editing because I don't have any idea where to start but then the idea came to me when I am with Denn, while he was editing his own proposal, I am thinking of what my assets will be. And then an image appeared on my brain that this character would be my main in the game. I named the character "Juan" after JuanTamad. and also, added another old man this character will be our tour guide and tells us about his old experiences that he can share with us which is the history of the Philippines and also added our Philippine signature jeepney to make it more Pinoy.

Editing my entire user interface took weeks to be made. I am still adjusting to editing in Photoshop because I did not have time to study it, but I know the basics because he also guides us on editing on adobe photoshop. I used the gradient of yellow to orange because for me it captures the eyes of the user, and it is simple. I named my game application "Historicade' it is a combination of History and arcade. It contains a particular question about historical places.

After a week of making the entire user interface and finalizing it, I finished it on the day of passing because I crammed it hehe. When we passed the game proposal, our section discussed and guessed that this is our final examination for the second semester we thought that our instructor will pick each one to be our final project examination. When our instructor finished grading our proposal my friend Dennmarc took our proposal with its grade on the paper because he is the only one on the campus that day. I asked him about my grade and he sent me a photo of the grade and it contained a comment with it, I am satisfied with my grade because for me it was already a high grade because he used to be the instructor that gives a lower grade when he was not satisfied with the presented work also he instructor gave us advice or comment on the proposal so that in the future when the final examination came, we can now improve it and make it more enjoyable to play with. After we received the grades, our instructor invited us to a meeting where he would be announced the leader of the group for our final examination. My game was chosen, and I was picked as the leader and got the chance to choose who my members will be. After the choosing he instructed us that the presentation of the game will be the first week of July it was one month of making the game itself.

He also reminded us to take in the advice or the comment that was written on the proposal. I did not fully understand the comment and asked him about it he explained to me that there is a hierarchy of our history it was the year and date of it then he gave me some advice to just present it as a tourism application because of the contains of it which is places and I additionally add it people on it too. July is coming near, and our deadline will be next week as we have to propose this game application as a functional game. I am still making the game and progressing with it, hopefully, I can be presented to you as much as possible so that you and now also visualize what was on my mind during that time, I can imagine the excitement rushing to me now.
