A Rundown of Updates for HivePH

in Hive PH2 years ago

You may have noticed a new channel for members with the Angkan Sirena Role, on top of the delegators having their own separate channel for random airdrops, The Angkan Sirena and Angkan Diwata get their separate reward channel.

This plan has been in concept before the July Monthly Report was published. Like most of the subtle changes you see on the community, everything is planned at an average of 3 months prior because staff members are functioning on volunteer time. This one of the origin reasons for the motto "Walang Pera sa HivePH", we do it for shits and giggles.

The long term goal for accumulating funds for the community was to redistribute resources to members that give value back to the community where everything is closely accounted as much as possible. HivePH is reliant on community support to thrive and it's been giving back the rewards in proportion to how much it is receiving from the Hive community.

Delegating to the @hivephilippines community account is one way to support the community's growth as stake is used for other members in a transparent channel and part of the curation rewards goes to the community fund for incentivizing members and growing the account.

Sinabi ko na ito dati, "everyone will eventually get the kind of community they deserve based on how they interact with the community they are in", this means if apathetic yung members to changes, walang mangyayari, but if majority are team players and moving the community forward through contributing value, may mangyayari talaga.

I have a dream. Someday magkakapera tayo, na bawat member magiging happy at merong kickback sa oras na ginugol nila sa community. Cents lang naman yung rewards for bothering with this community after hours spent on discord for kalokohan. You could have used that same amount of time to come up with a shitpost and be productive some other way. You don't have to be involved with HivePH to thrive.

I'm focusing on systems instead of goals on making things happen gradually. Madali lang naman sabihin na gusto natin maging better yung community ganito ganern, anyone can make a goal but not everyone can carry out systems that bring the community towards that goal. I try not to overhype plans and just stick to announcing what is feasible and already acted upon the community.

Improvements that are happening within the community are done so subtle that they come at a point where it's easy to take these things for granted by newcomers. Darating sa point na yung mga bago ngayon will compare their journey to newcomers on the platform and reexamine the differences on how well they got their start in the ecosystem.

It's also possible to have the organization grow to a point where it's hard to regulate members. Anything that has value will eventually attract more value and unwanted attention. It's possible to see so many names active that you can't keep up with who's who on the server anymore. This is the consequences for scaling up.

So if ever that time comes, I expect those that stuck with the community long and still active to guide new members without being reliant to staff help. Yan yung essence ng bayanihan and being responsible seniors/veterans on the platform.

The bear market is an interesting season because this is where you get to meet people that can toughen out the market conditions. Bull season only brings in the good times and a lot of people come during the good times then leave during the bad times.

Black circle indicates the times when our active members entered and are still active today. Red circle was during times when we had some members doing some chats then leaving when things went downhill. Build on the people that stick around during the tough times.

An an individual level, one may think just being tagged as a Hayahay isn't worth minding but this role opens up to more possibilities within the community for the individual. It's a rite of passage where users are supposed to prove themselves they can get along with others. It's also a screener for for prospective users that can later be assets for the community. May impact yung thumbs up niyo for the people that you admit to the community and this is the point of leaving Hayahays to exercise their voting powers.

It uses a peer review system and confidence rating rin. Because you have personally gave your approval for the member as an act of peer review, and your membership has value, you also signal others in the community that this newbie can also be an asset to and like attracts like.

At the individual level, using thumbs up or down may seem so trivial but you're also dictating someone else's user experience on Hive. Who you approve as a member will affect the rest of the community too so be responsible on who you want to admit into the community.

Cause and effect lang yan, if may other members na hindi naman mapanuri kung sino bet nilang maging hayahay and panay thumbs up lang, wag lang mag taka if may influx of questionable users. It only takes one HivePH member bearing the group name to do stupid shit to spoil the rest of the group by association.

  • Updates on the curation guidelines for this community
  1. The post isn't plagiarized and sourced for parts of the content not owned by the author.
  2. The post doesn't look like spam, garble, and just looks like it was created to simply have posting for reward quota.
  3. The post was authored by a HivePH member, Filipino, Half-Filipino as much as possible but some posts that don't qualify as mentioned can still be voted on a case to case basis.

A reminder that anyone's access to the community stake/membership is a privilege and not a right.

We don't encourage the use of Steemit and Blurt but we're not going to do any active measures to block member's access to the #voteme channel if they still post on those platforms, for now. Those platforms are competition like any other social blockchain based platforms Hive has to compete with but it's along the lines of history how these platforms existed in the first place.

It's highly encouraged that you check these platforms for possible impostor accounts stealing your content on Hive like this case. In the future, we might implement some changes to the curation that supports users that aren't posting on Steemit and Blurt. I'm just going to give this notice in advance which it may or may not come so that you can pick your position on the matter.

This is a team game where your wins are the community's win to. And if you're bothered by numbers for something as trivial as not getting good payouts for your time and effort here while checking on others, check your tendencies to envy and entitlement.

Blogging to earn here involves not being in total control of how much you can get due to the social side of things. Some people are just good at public relations and some are just lucky. Piliin mo nalang yung situation na maging parte ka ng success na iba dahil lumalatay rin yung biyaya in ways you can't expect. Be the player where everyone wants to play with and win with.

The shortest route to thrive and earn on the platform is finding a niche that you're useful to the community you're in. It's not your content that gives you money but the reputation you build under your name.
