After the successful HivePH Meetup held last April 27th, the HivePH team went to the Home for the Angels to handover the funds we collected from the raffles and donations. The team that visited held a story telling and drawing activity for the kids in the orphanage. We also gave away some crocheted toys to the kids. This is in reference to the previous announcement about a planned visit to the orphanage.
Before the activity, the social worker gave us a short orientation to let us know how and where they got the kids that are staying with them at the moment. Right now, there are 18 kids under their care. It was heartbreaking hearing their stories but is also comforting to know that orphanages like Home for the Angels are there to help these little kids.
Our outreach program for the Home for the Angels last April 29th was another success. We were able to collect a total of Php10,000 with the breakdown as follows:
Collection and tips from raffle (converted in Pesos): Php7250
Remainder from the meetup funds: Php831
Donations in pesos: Php1919
