*Used/edited this Canva template a couple of months ago. The truth is that personal finance principles haven't changed for the longest time and I doubt that it ever will. We only see newer versions and / or the use of technology, but it's still the same: increasing our income, saving some of this income, not getting into bad debt and unnecessary purchases will always help up in the path towards wealth building and financial independence.
Hello Hiveans! I hope that you are all doing well. Being an avid fan of personal finance, passive income and the compounding effect, I make it a point to participate in the monthly #HPUD event that we have all been doing as a way to support the Hive ecosystem, earn from the blockchain inflation, and basically get passive income from the savings locked in as Hive Power (HP).
Granted that we won't be seeing $10 Hive prices in the near future, but at least we know that we get 3% average returns from inflation and another 10% APRs via delegations, which can be a good hedge against inflation (inflation in economics and not to be confused with Hive inflation). I am aware, of course, that the price can also cost us more than the Hive savings + delegation APRs with a sharp decline in price, but it's still a "safe" bet for me just because I enjoy writing and the other things this platform can offer (e.g. games, Hive Engine tokens, defi, etc.)
So, for today's edition of this Hive tradition, I am powering up 12.989 of my precious liquid Hive and converting it into Hive Power, which gets my HP up to 3,724.34 and an 88.475 HP increase from last month's edition of HPUD.
From the image above, we can clearly see that powering up can help us in reaching our savings goals, increase income, and is an investment in the future. We can't be certain that Hive will break previous all time highs but what we know is that ordinary people are gaining more awareness and are starting to invest in cryptocurrency. The more people invest in Hive, the higher the demand will be in the future. So, for now, my goal is to increase HP and prepare for whatever happens. After all, blogging isn't work for me; it's a hobby that let's me relax and take my mind away from offline stuff that while keeping me entertained.
As always, I am thankful to be here on this platform where we can enjoy creative freedom and practice personal finance - not the most compatible couple, but a welcome surprise for me when I first came on board.
And, that's it for today. It's a hot and humid day here at our place so I'm looking forward to a refreshing weekend a few days from now. Also, it's April Fools' Day with expectation of a viral joke or trick being carried out by some social media influencer who wants attention and engagement, so let's see if someone gets to prank the interned today.
