A Little Information About Myself: Entering A New Community

Five things that I like about myself are— first, I like observing people and I'm always trying to learn and understand them. Second, I do love making posters and I have entered many competitions back when I was elementary until high school but I only won once and I am proud of it. Third, somehow sometimes I can be confident so I do try something new like speaking and presenting to a lot of people. Speaking to a crowd was once my weakness but when the time comes that I have to face it, I'm very surprised with myself as I won with my first extemporaneous speech.

Fourth, I do love watching dystopian movies or series because I like watching something that somehow reflects what's happening with our society right now. My favorite movie at the moment is the trilogy series “The Hunger Games”. It really shows how collective efforts can influence each member of the society and how a movement such as protesting and questioning the higher ups can make a change into our system. Lastly, I'm creative in everything I do. I like expressing myself through art although I'm not good at it. Art is one of my coping mechanisms every time I have struggles in life, it's not because I don't want to express to other people but it is because it's my only choice.

I want to be part of the Hive family as I want to share my journey with you guys! I have been living a solitary life, some parts of me wanted to feel like someone really appreciates me and someone is willing to read a bit of my story or journey. I'm also hoping that I can somehow inspire others with my story. I want them to see themselves in me, who keeps on surviving and waiting for life to turn its table.

Honestly, writing is one of my hobbies during pandemic days. It is my main outlet in expressing myself and releasing all the boredom during the day. Imagining that I will earn some money just by sharing and expressing myself or sharing my day, makes me feel excited and maybe loved because I'm somehow being heard. I'm thankful to my sister's friend for introducing Hive to me. She said that,“you're an expressionist, why don't you use that personality of yours in this platform”. Here I am now writing my first blog hoping that the Hive community will welcome me.

After I asked about the process on how to join Hive, my sister explained to me that we have to attend an orientation for us to be informed about the rules and regulations of the platform. Afterwards, I attended an orientation session on June 7, 2025 at 9:30 PM. It was led by Mr. Rolando Sadullo. He explained to us everything about Hive, like where it came from, what are the benefits we could get from it, how to use it in making blogs, what are its related apps and websites, and how important it is to follow its rules and regulations. This orientation somehow motivates me in doing one of the things that I enjoy, which is writing. By his words of wisdom, I learned that in joining this community I need to be authentic and also to be responsible in order for me to be appreciated. There's nothing to be worried about as long as you know yourself and you are being yourself.
