Roch Tells: A Self-Introduction

So, this is Hive, a space where you can freely share your passions and interests with people. Finally, I'm very pleased to become part of this community and introduce myself to everyone. Anyway, before I get started, I hope everyone is doing well.

ABOUT ME
Hello, sweeties! My name is Rochelle but you can also call me Roch. I am a 23-year-old single Filipino graduating student pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a major in Marketing Management.

I am the kind of person who simply accepts life as it comes. I always envision a promising future for myself. I like what life has to offer, and it makes me happy to serve other people.

---

I have many ambitions in life, and I am working hard to achieve all of them. I love discovering new things. I am a risk taker. I enjoy traveling throughout the world especially Japan, trying new cuisines, and taking countless photographs. I have a lot of hobbies and interest, which I am going to share throughout this blog.

I am the eldest member of my family and have two sisters. Life was quite difficult for me last year. Many challenges have tested me so badly. My mom passed last November 2023. She has been diagnosed with cancer. Her death occurred unexpectedly. Unfortunately, she only lasted for nearly two months after her diagnosis. Many things change after her death. I was having difficulty adjusting to life without her. I don’t like talking to others. I isolate myself in darkness. Even today, I was crying constantly. I almost lost my life's purpose.

My wound worsens and becomes more painful with time. Life is just so different after she left, and I can’t bear with it sometimes. However, life must still go on and I am very grateful to the people around me. Their constant effort to check on me and offer heartfelt support keeps me safe and well. They always make sure that I am alright and listen to my pain. Even though my mother is no longer with us, I will still continue to fulfill all of her wishes and make her happy. I miss her so much. Life is indeed emotionally abusive. It will drain you out. But I am certain that whatever challenges I will encounter will make me a stronger and better person. I am going to continue to live my life and inspire others.

MY PASSIONS AND INTERESTS
Since I was a child, I have had a strong interest in music. I've always aspired to be a recording artist. I always bring my headset with me when I go somewhere so I can listen to music. Music is everything to me. I don't think of it as just a sound, but as the rhythm of my soul. What I enjoy about music is the message behind its lyrics. I enjoy interpreting the story and what the lyrics pertain to and share it with my friends.

Taylor Swift is one of my favorite musical artists. Her songs were really meaningful and deep. She is a real poet. I almost listen to her songs every day. Also, songs used in movies or series are always the first to catch my attention.

Everything seems so good about music. It brings me comfort whenever I am coping with my problems, especially when I am at my lowest. I also enjoy playing musical instruments such as the piano and guitar, but I am still learning. Nowadays, I'm really involved in my new interests, such as the arts and music. I desperately want to study the violin.

Some of my photographs are displayed above. I love taking pictures. Capturing photographs is similar to telling a story without using words. It is wonderful how we can capture emotions and see beauty in anything. When I find it difficult to describe myself through words, I take a picture.

When I go somewhere, I constantly look for interesting things to take shots of. Sunsets, oceans, and nature are my best subjects. I enjoy preserving memories since, at the end of the day, only memories exist. I also spend much of my time watching movies and series. I truly enjoy Korean dramas. Who wouldn't love it? Do you also watch Korean dramas? If not, then you must try watching it. It is very comforting and you will never regret why you are watching it. I have been a fan of it since when I was in junior high.

WHY DID I JOIN HIVE?
I joined Hive because I want to share my experiences, passion and interests. Instead of writing in my journal, I'd like to share it with others. I have so much on my mind right now, and I wanted to express it creatively. It is so nice to have the feeling that you were able to express yourself and, at the same time, engage with other people. I want to meet people whom I can relate.

Thanks to @jeannmazing, @ybanezkim26, and @intoy.bugoy for encouraging and introducing me to this platform. They put in a lot of effort to meet with us and teach us about Hive. They shared their experiences and journeys, which inspired me and made me want to explore this platform more.

This is us after the orientation was completed. The venue is at Workplace Café in Mandaue City. We learned many things about the platform because they were able to communicate it effectively. They are also willing to help us, particularly when we have concerns or inquiries. These are my classmates, and we are very excited about this journey.
