Celebrating my day of existence, my special day!

Birthdays are special to each one of us. It's a day to remember how grateful we are to be born in this world. It's also a reminder that we get to celebrate this very special day once a year.

For my birthday, I wanted to spend my day thanking Him for the blessings I received not just today but every day may it be in small or big things. How about you? How are you going to celebrate your birthdays? Come with me as I share with you in this blog how I celebrated my birthday.

Attending Holy Mass

Last January, I celebrated my special day. I started my day by attending a solemn mass to the Sto. Nino Church in Cebu. And because the fiesta celebration for the holy child is fast approaching, a lot of devotees were attending the holy mass. Some even did not have the chance to go inside the pilgrim center because of the group of mass attendees inside. Luckily, I woke up at 5 am just to attend the 6:30 am mass.

I am a person who doesn't spend much on birthdays. Even a simple meal for myself is enough because what's important is you get to celebrate this day healthier together with your family and friends.

Spending Quality Meal with My Friend

After attending mass, together with my friend, we bought a birthday sash at one of the stores in Cebu. It was my first time buying the sash for I am not familiar with the new trends of celebrating a birthday. It was not a surprise yet my friend insisted on having a sash instead of balloons. After a while, we had the sash already and wore it the entire time spent in the restaurant.

Afterward, we decided to eat lunch at one of the classy restaurants in Cebu - Tamp Cafe and Co. Mabolo branch. The restaurant is located on one of the corner streets in Mabolo so we used Google Maps to locate the place. It was our first time going to this restaurant. And seeing the place looks classy and elegant outside until the inner view. There are allocated chairs for dine-in customers. But there are also spaces outside for those who want to prefer eating just outside the store.

As we entered the restaurant, the staff were very approachable and friendly. A lot of food to choose from on the list/menu. But what we order is food that we are just familiar with. (Perks of being a first-timer to a place😅)

The Food Shared

We order Pork Kawali and Pork Belly, we also add one double chocolate frappe and one slice of chocolate cake for my birthday. I was overwhelmed seeing this simple celebration for my birthday. My heart jumps for joy for being so lucky to have friends who spend their time with me for my birthday.

Spending time and eating together for a little while is the most precious moment I would love to have. I won't ask for more as long as I have true friends whom I can share and laugh with that's enough for me.

Quality Time with My Family

Going home to my family, they also had a simple celebration for me. They bought a small piece of cake and cooked simple and delicious food for all of us to share.

I am overjoyed with so much happiness for today. Having my family around and my true friends with me is truly a great blessing. Celebrating this day with a healthier mind and body is the true essence of my birthday. They are my gems that I won't trade for material things.
