UNLOCK THE REAL ME: EXPLORE THE ROUTES TO MY INDENTITY

Good day everyone! Today is the day that I never thought would happen. 15th day of March, something very big happened in my life that I never imagined it would happen even in my dreams. But before that, let me introduce myself first. I am Wendelyn Paller, I just turned 21 years old last January 13 of course in the year 2025. Yes, I'm 21 already but do you know what my height is just 4'11 but its nothing, what's important is there are still people who is shorter than me. That's just a joke. Let just keep my height a secret between two of us, make it sure you won’t share it to anyone, okay.

Moreover, I live at Maramag Bukidnon, but I'm currently staying at Cagayan de Oro, because I'm studying here at University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP). Let's focus on my hometown first, do you know I'm SO proud of our Municipality because it's recognized as the cleanest market in the whole Philippines, and yes, it’s true, you can search it online if you won’t believe me. I’m proudly to say that our market is clean enough to lie down on. Not to brag but if you go there, you’ll see it, and I'm also encouraging you to go on our Municipality, try our foods and have fun. We also have lots of tourist spot there. If you have time to travel there, it won’t be a waste.

Now let's move on here in CDO, I study here in CDO since my 1st year of college, I think it’s a year 2022. All I can say is that, it’s really expensive here in CDO. Everything must be bought, back in our place in Maramag you can just steal or ask for malunggay (moringa), here in CDO you absolutely can’t do that. It's only here in CDO where I realized that even a one-peso change should really be collected, because making a living here is so difficult that one peso can be a big help if you can get it. Studying here at USTP, it's so exaggerating, especially if you used to always have your parents by your side. It's only here in CDO where I realized that I'm not yet ready yet without a parents beside me because as far as I remembered, in my first stayed here in CDO, I cried for several weeks or maybe even reached it 1 month just because I missed my family a lot especially my mama. When I look back at those times, I can’t stop laughing. Our landlord at the boarding house that time said, "Gang, maybe you want to go home, your eyes are already very swollen from crying." It was embarrassing because I'm already grown up, but what can I do, I’m such a mama's girl.

And now let me introduce to you all who are the parents of this girl who cries a lot when her parents are not by her side. So here, this is my family, I'm really sorry about the picture because our cellphone is not an iPhone and also my parents are very shy, they don't like to show off their handsome and beautiful faces. My beloved mama, the most beautiful and above all super supportive, Mama Jocelyn Paller, I think she's already 43, that's one of the most embarrassing things, the girl who cried a lot doesn't know exactly the age of her Mother. Let me introduce to you all, the most supportive, handsome, very hardworking to earn money for my schooling, and one of my strength, Papa Welmar Paller, my papa’s line "I don't mind turning night into day as long as I have money to send you, the tiredness from work will just fade away." What kind of introduction is this, the girl who’s writing this blog is now crying. I'm very soft-hearted when it comes to parents. This girl is planning to save money, I'll really want to prepare something for my papa on his birthday this upcoming June 11, so save more money self. We are 4 siblings in the family and I'm the 2nd one, my older brother is no longer goes to school so there's a lot of pressure on me right now because I'm the first daughter who entered and the first to graduate in college, God willing, both on my mother's side and father's side. I don't understand why my brother got tired of going to school, I just don't have any idea. My 2 younger siblings are still in grade 5 and grade 7 this upcoming school year. My mama just stays at home but occasionally works in the farm, but I feel sorry for her because she has many body pains, my papa is the one who is very hardworking. When I go went back to Maramag, my Papa just meets me at the terminal then when we arrive home, you'll be surprised that he's gone because he went to the area to his employer to work. Times are really hard, so we need to study hard.

I'm a 3rd year student now at the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP). Computer Science is my course, and if you ask me why I chose that course, I can only say one thing, "I don't know either." The IT slots were already full so I just took Computer Science without any reason, it turned out to be really difficult, and if I had known at the first place, I would have just stayed at home, just kidding. We need to study and finish college. Not for the sake of our parents but for ourselves so that we won't experience the situation and hardship same to our parents encountered because they weren't able to go to school.

What are some of my interests in life?
To be honest, I really have this habits that I cook snack and then give it to my Papa when he comes home from work, that’s the time when I’m at our house, but when I'm here in CDO, I can't do anything here so I just keep watching movies, hanging out with friends if they treat me, I can't cook here because if I did my allowance would not be enough for the whole month. I don't really go out that much when I feel like I'll gonna spend money, because if I do, the outcome is that I don’t have anything to eat in the next day. What kind of person I am? I always telling myself that we can buy that things next time, go there, eat that, when we finish school and get a job. BIENG MATERIALISTIC IS A CHOICE, IF YOU DON’T HAVE MONEY TO BUY SOMETHING, DON’T ACT LIKE YOU DO. Remember life is a cycle, if you feel like you're at the bottom now, next time you'll be on top, in Jesus' name "AMEN".

How did I discover Hive?
I was scrolling and searching on Facebook just like those ordinary users. Suddenly, there’s one post got my attention. That time I was confused and had a lot question sink in into my mind.
