Things Didn't Go the Way it was Planned; Travel blog part one

They say Early Bird Catches the worm but it's not what happened to our trip.

A Very Long Time of Planning

Late March, I and my family went to a trip in Valencia, Bukidnon for a family Reunion. M y sister was the one who was very excited about it, convincing me and my husband to join. My mother was never excused because she was the most direct relative of her family.

My sister was very excited that even if it was just January this year, she kept bugging us to look for a vehicle to use. She keeps on telling us her plans; she had a daughter with cerebral palsy so she had more things to get worried to and prepare. She thought of where to sleep, and planned on buying a tent; she thought of bringing her TV so her daughter could just stay inside while she meet the family. While there I was, doubting if I would go, thinking of where to get the funds and how I would react meeting all those people. It was my first time meeting them.

My sister had convinced me by telling me our Grandpa was too old already and kept looking for his gwapita (this is my mother's uncle; her father died last year and I was not able to attend his Funeral) and we might not be able to see him alive next year. It would not be good to go when he is gone already. Just weeks before the reunion, he got hospitalized due to his old age and slightly enlarged heart. He is the only grandpa I ever knew before.

My sister had to convince her son on joining us. her first reason is that Princess would cry and look for him all the time and that we would need more funds for travel and allowance.

Fast forward to March, we saw a passenger type multicab, and they were delighted about the news. The thing is that the funds were delayed and we gave the reservation fee to the owner the day before the trip ( I even had to power down to have money to use during this trip).

It's Gone!

Now that we have arranged a vehicle that we could use, hubby has got to drive and he realized his driver's license was gone!

Two weeks ago tat night, I inserted it on his pant's pocket because I really hate him drive without it during his duty as a barangay police. He was appointed as a patrol driver during their round on the community to make sure it was peaceful and in order.

We literally flipped the whole house just to find it but it coudl not be found. That night, he was not able to sleep great thinking what to do next.

He thought of texting a friend who had a driver's license to go with us just in case we would have to pass by on a checkpoint and he came the next morning.

During coffee in the morning, hubby remembered that his friend lost a driver's license long ago and he asked him on what he did then was advised to seek for affidavit of loss which he had to pay or almost 10 USD.

The BIG Day Came!

So we had to leave on March 22, Friday; I did not go to work u then I read on the group chat on my daughter's class that they had to have an exam that day because there might be no time to do it since it would be a very long weekend on the following week. I sent her to school while I prepared for our things.

All I thought were the kid's clothes and underestimated it. I brought too few clothes because I though they were too big to not get dirty already. I only brought an extra clothes for me and my husband thinking he already had short pants under his long pants. But Blankets and mosquito nets were there too.

My husband went to the vehicle we will be using too but when when the owner's kids called their mom, she refused because sh is still in Bohol and needs to be picked up on the sea port the next day.

My husband was too worried not to have our trip, he worried about me to get disappointed too to the point that he did not have breakfast before going to his errand.

My nephew had an emergency meeting at work which gave us enough time. My daughter who had an exam was already crying when I got to her school to pick her up because she thought we already left her and I had to pacify her with an ice cream so she'd top crying. Poor little Laling of mine. Food makes her happy so I bought he what she wanted on the vendors along the way. I asked on how her exam went and she said it was okay and she got through.

My husband thought of calling his friend and thank God his vehicle was available! It took him till 12 to successfully bring it home though and the owner went with us too. But my sister got mad about not having a decent seat(we had to sit on the floor but sister had already brought a thick blanket with her). She got angry on me bringing hubby's friend too, perhaps she was thinking he had to be another expense.

My patience snapped and told them not to go anymore but we still did haha! (My mother and sister soon realized why God made it this way and I'll share what happened on our trip on the next blog)

All the things that we planned did not go that way and it was frustrating yet I kept my mind positive that everything might have a reason it all happened.

You see when it is not God's will, it will not happen and I know that He does not want us hurt.

Part one of my travel blog had to end here. I hop I'll have the time to make the second part tomorrow.

See you around and keep safe!
