Anoche ganaron los equipos "débiles" en el papel, para acercar posiciones en la tabla. Los Navegantes del Magallanes volvieron a triunfar sobre los Cardenales de Lara 4 carreras por 3. El abridor de la nave turca Ricardo Sánchez se perfila para el premio pitcher del año, al demostrar que es el mejor abridor de la zafra (un líder dentro de un cuerpo de pitcheo que ha hecho el trabajo, a pesar de los resultados), al lanzar pelota de 2 rayitas en seis episodios, regalar 4 boletos y ponchar a 7 contrarios, para su carta salida de calidad consecutiva. Omar Eliézer Alfonzo Jr. volvió a jonronear en el séptimo con trallazo de dos carreras, para consumar la ventaja invencible. Magallanes logra reducir a 6 juegos la diferencia con la azotea de la tabla, mientras que Cardenales baja a la quinta posición a 4 juegos, empatados con dos equipos.

Entretanto, los Tiburones de La Guaira irrespetaron la casa de las Águilas del Zulia al vencerles en Maracaibo con pizarra de 7 carreras a 4. Carlos Tocci y Daniel Montaño fueron los héroes litoralenses al batear sendos triple y jonrón, respectivamente, con los cuales trajeron a la goma las carreras de la ventaja en el séptimo de la suerte. Aunque arrancaron adelante con cuatro carreras en el inning 2 y 3, las rapaces no se dejaron amedrentar, respondiendo con igual número en los innings 4, 5 y 6. Pero los escualos tenían montada la celada con la que finalmente se llevaron el triunfo. !3 lanzadores entre ambos equipos desfilaron por el morrito, en algo que ya se convirtió en una costumbre ante las escasez de abridores sólidos. Al ganar, los cartilaginosos empatan el quinto puesto con Cardenales y Leones, mientras que las Águilas siguen volando en lo alto de la clasificación.

Caribes entró en el noveno episodio ganando 6 carreras a 2, pero desperdició la ventaja enorme por el desastroso bullpen, quienes aceptaron 7 carreras en ese episodio (incluyendo un grand slam de Ramón Flores), para irse a las duchas con más pena que gloria. Por último, los Tigres de Aragua se vengaron de la afrenta del Caracas, la noche anterior, para ganar en la capital 5 carreras a 4. Caracas ganaba 4 a 3 entrando en el noveno episodio y como ha sucedido a lo largo del campeonato, perdieron el juego por culpa del relevo (embasando gente) o de los errores al campo. Jesús Rodríguez bateó un roletazo con las bases llenas que no pudo fildear el segunda base Liván Soto y por ahí vinieron las dos carreras de la diferencia. Los Leones son líderes en carreras permitidas por errores. Así es muy difícil presentar resultados, porque cuando no es la defensiva, los relevos no funcionan. La verdad, el Caracas parece a veces un equipo de aficionados y duele decirlo (pierde el redactor la objetividad). Al triunfar, los Tigres continúan al acecho de las Águilas desde el 2do. puesto de la tabla, mientras que el Caracas está empatado en el quinto con dos equipos.
