En la trigésima primera jornada de la actual temporada de la Premier League, decidí dar un descanso a la lucha entre Liverpool, Arsenal y Manchester City por el liderato para enfocarme en un encuentro que puede ser considerado como intrascendente por la situación actual tanto de Chelsea como del Manchester United, pero de igual manera sigue siendo un encuentro muy atractivo y en esta oportunidad mi apreciación fue acertada porque no decepcionaron.

En Stanford Bridge, casa del equipo azul de Londres; Chelsea FC, décimo en la tabla de posiciones, pero recibió la visita del Manchester United, equipo que ocupa la sexta posición; ambos clubes tienen la similitud de tener una nefasta dirección gerencial y deportiva porque sin importar el gasto realizado por el fichaje de muchos jugadores, el fútbol que practican sigue siendo irregular y como resultado o ejemplo es las posiciones antes citadas; posiblemente esta otra igualdad y es que de manera obligatoria deben tener un buen cierre en la competencia más importante en el fútbol inglés, me refiero al mayor número de resultados positivos para tener la posibilidad de ser parte de competiciones de UEFA; eso a pesar de que todavía tienen la posibilidad de disputar la final de la FA Cup si obtienen la victoria en sus respectivas semifinales.

Ahora con respecto a lo sucedido en este encuentro el cual termino con siete goles anotados, los cuales cuatro fueron para el club local y tres para el visitante, se puede dar una errónea definición en donde las defensas tuvieron un nulo rol en el juego, pero la realidad es que este fue un clásico y esperado estilo de juego que ofrece la Premier League; ambos equipos impusieron actitud en la presión, recuperación y jugadas rápidas para hacer equivocar al rival y crear claras ocasiones de gol; justamente esto fue lo que sucedió en más de 90 minutos disputados entre estos dos equipos en dónde por diferentes factores de practicar el fútbol fueron influyentes en la victoria del Chelsea y por supuesto en la derrota del Manchester United.

En ciertos momentos ambos clubes jugaron como equipo; ambos defendieron en bloque, juntos, con el necesario sacrificio de los extremos y mediocampistas, nuevamente, pueden pensar que eso no fue un factor importante pero si, porque la defensa a la cual hago referencia es a la presión al rival que tiene la posesión del balón, recuperar el balón, realizar transición rápida y anotar; seis de las siete jugadas de los goles presentaron esas características, aunque también estoy convencido de que la individualidad en el ataque del Chelsea, por parte de Cole Palmer, fue suficiente para obtener la victoria, ya que anotó tres de los cuatro goles para su equipo y tuvo cierta influencia en el gol anotado por Gallagher.

Por parte del ManUtd, creo que los jugadores estaban convencidos de defender y atacar como equipo, pero les costó mucho funcionar y por eso tanto en los primeros minutos así como lamentablemente en los últimos, estuvieron perdidos y por eso recibieron los cuatro goles que les propinó otra derrota más; posiblemente sea anecdótico decir que un fallo de Dalot que por las muchas lesiones en defensa debió cumplir el rol de lateral izquierdo, le costó dos goles a su equipo, pero lo preocupante es el fallo, la desconcentración y es que es más que evidente que para los Diablos Rojos, no existe un capitán o un referente en defensa que ordene y despierte a sus compañeros en momentos difíciles del encuentro.

Este emocionante, divertido y entretenido encuentro, que quitó el mal sabor de boca que me dejó el Manchester City vs. Arsenal y no comparo la importancia de ambos encuentros, sino que si estos equipo que se enfrentaron en esta jornada mostraron más actitud, ganas de obtener la victoria, entonces pregunto ¿Por qué dos equipos que juegan el liderato lo hacen con miedo? En realidad que me sentí decepcionado por ese juego y espero que, a pesar de las bajas y de este mal resultado, el Manchester United lo siga intentando, que mantenga la actitud porque el próximo domingo deberán enfrentar al actual líder, al Liverpool, en el Clásico del Fútbol Inglés.

This exciting, fun and entertaining match, which removed the bad taste in my mouth that left me the Manchester City vs. Arsenal and I do not compare the importance of both games, but if these teams that faced each other on this day showed more attitude, desire to get the victory, then I ask why two teams that play the leadership do it with fear? I was really disappointed by this game and I hope that, despite the losses and this bad result, Manchester United will keep trying, keep the attitude because next Sunday they will have to face the current leader, Liverpool, in the English Football Classic.
