Not your regular Hive story

You know what excites me right now? Can you take a guess?😃 ok, sure, I’ll help you.
So what excites me these days is growing from that newbie who left questions on people’s blogs and discord channels to being a Hivean who helps newbies navigate their way on Hive. Can someone tell me what spell was cast on me? Like how did it all happen?!!

From my early days here, it felt like it was going to take forever to be the type of Hivean I looked up to but newsflash I am that Hivean right now!! The very one I wished I was two years ago and it feels so good.

I woke up today feeling so happy about my growth on Hive.

I remember when I’d walk around the street of Hive looking for posts that explained Hive from different dimensions and I’d read and read them again, I’d watch both English and Spanish videos that talked about Hive as I was so scared of getting into trouble, getting downvoted, blacklisted or hacked.

Did you use an incredible markdown style in your post or use a feature on one of the Dapps that I like? Trust me after saying how I felt about your post I’m dropping my detailed question in the comment section 😂😂 and luckily so many Hiveans were kind enough to help me.

I am so grateful to all the oldies who didn’t see it as a burden but as an avenue to help a newbie because as the saying goes, we rise by lifting others, although they didn't owe it to me to help, they helped anyway and I'm so grateful for that.

When newbies complain about getting little rewards on Hive I always advise them to go read my posts from when I started Hive. I had a couple of 0.07 and 0.08 on my posts and sometimes these were posts I had poured my heart out to write, but did that make me give up? Hell no!

Starting Hive and quitting immediately because of low payouts is all shades of wrong and I wish a lot of Hiveans know this.
As a newbie, your first few months on Hive will test your patience, it will feel like you’re drowning in a big ocean filled with so many fishes, you’ll question the credibility of your work and you will feel invisible but bear in mind that this wouldn’t last forever as Rome wasn't built in a day.

As a newbie, your first few months are your sowing period, sow those seeds and watch them grow in no time, and trust me you’ll be amazed at how big these little seeds of yours grow over time.

When I think about how far I’ve come on Hive my heart is filled with joy. When people recommend me or seek my opinion on certain things here I’m like “Me? Tammy the newbie of yesterday?”😂😂 it feels surreal to gradually become that Hivean you’ve always admired here and more satisfying that you’re doing what you love to do.

I look at myself and I can't believe I used to be that Hivean with 0.001 vote value but today my story is different.
I love how I’m able to vote other authors' posts and they get something as opposed to my previous vote value of 0.001, this wouldn't be entirely possible without the help of my delegator @zuerich who trusted a total stranger with some of his stakes, thank you sir, as this stranger is super grateful😃

For the longest time I wanted to be that curator, one with so much Hive power to upvote, and Hiveans feel the impact as I love to upvote people’s posts. One day my wish was granted as I became a community curator and this was just all I needed to help people here on Hive.

Today, even if my eyes are about to fall out I’ll still curate😂 because I know how important curation means to people, and as a curator any time you delay curating, you are one step closer to missing out on an incredible post, and if you ask me the highlight of my day on Hive, I would say it's curating original contents.

Two years later and I still can’t believe how my Hive journey turned out and this can happen to just anyone.

To all the newbies out there, I know how it feels like to be the new girl or boy on the block and I also know how it feels like not to be seen, but hang in there for a little while and you’ll be amazed at your progress over time.
As they say, little drops of water make an ocean, put in the work and wait to get blown away in due time.
