Hello everyone! Zak Ludick here from Cape Town, South Africa and this is a Warhammer 40k - Datasheet Review post!

What is it all about? It is not there to just give a stat. It is there to give MY review of the unit in the game of Warhammer 40,000

The last of the Indexes! A new challenge!

Right, I am finally ahead and by my best estimations as I explained in this Post, I should be able to keep ahead of the release curve and get the remainder of the Indexes reviewed before those Codex releases.

So I embark on a new challenge. I have calculated that there are roughly 148 reviews to do. I have chosen my frequency and have given myself 96 days to review them all. That means that I am aiming at Day 96 being the 21st of July 2025!

I have reviewed 6/148.

Hobby Fund - Working myself into the clear

With my hobby posts, I generate a hobby fund. 50% of the income goes into the fund. At the moment I put all my HBD earned from Warhammer posts into my alt account @zakl.hobbyfund.

I am collecting funds in the following ways:

• Blogging about Warhammer to earn HBD
• Accepting donations - Can be sent directly to @zakl.hobbyfund in HBD
• Selling some of the collection to friends.

At the current count I am paying off some hobby debts. I still have $245 to pay off!

Chaos Knights, War Dog Stalker

10th Edition Index

Their name is so apt for if it finds you while you are on your own, it is going to hurt - a lot!

Thus I would say that these units are great anti-flankers and used for singling out the survivors on a flank that the larger Knights have cleared out!

They are 140pts to field.

Let's check its stats and abilities!

Save 3+/5++(invul against ranged only) (armor/invul/Feel No Pain)

Weapons

Standard weapons: Diabolus Heavy Stubber, Avenger Chaincannon, Slaughterclaw

This model can exchange its Diabolus Heavy Stubber for a Havoc Multi-Launcher.

This model can exchange their Avenger Chaincannon for a Daemonbreath Spear.

This model can exchange their Slaughterclaw for a Reaper Chaintalon.

Ranged Weapons

Diabolus Heavy Stubber

36" Range, 3 Shots, Hitting on 3+, S5, AP0 and 1 Damage each.
Rapid Fire 3 (This weapon gets 3x more attacks when shooting a target within Half Range of 18")

Havoc Multi-Launcher

48" Range, D6 Shots, Hitting on 3+, S5, AP0 and 1 Damage each.
Blast (This weapon gets +1 Attach per enemy models in target unit)
Indirect Fire (This weapon can shoot at a unit it cannot see, when it does the enemy gets Benefit of Cover and the attack is made at a -1 to hit to a max of 4+ to Hit.)

Avenger Chaincannon

24" Range, 12 Shots, Hitting on 3+, S6, AP-1 and 1 Damage each.

Daemonbreath Spear

24" Range, 2 Shots, Hitting on 3+, S12, AP-4 and D6 Damage each.
Melta 4 (At half range of 12", add 4 Damage to this attack)

Melee Weapons

Reaper Chaintalon - Strike (Why bother?)

6 Attacks, Hitting on 3+, S10, AP-3 and 3 Damage each.

Reaper Chaintalon - Sweep (Anti-horde)

12 Attacks, Hitting on 3+, S8, AP-3 and 3 Damage each.

Slaughterclaw (The real Strike option!)

6 Attacks, Hitting on 3+, S12, AP-3 and D6+2 Damage each.

Abilities

Deadly Demise D3 (When this model is destroyed, roll a dice to see if it explodes. On a 6 it does so, dealing D3 damage to every unit within 6" of this model)

Stalker

Each time this model attacks a target and that enemy unit does not have another enemy unit within 6" of it, add 1 to the Wound roll.

Thoughts

Right, so that +1 to Wound can be quite deadly! The Weapons on this guy can be anti-infantry or anti-tank and the close combat varies between the heavy hitting fist OR a Chaintalon which has two strike profiles. Not as heavy hitting, but has a sweep as well.

It all depends on what sort of units you need to balance your army out.

However.... Hitting a lone Knight with a Daemonbreath Spear and getting to Wound it on a 3+ is nasty! A squad of marines away from other units shot by the Avenger Chaincannon and it is 2+ to wound them! Ouch!

That makes 10 Chaos Knight Datasheets Reviewed putting them on 100% Completed! The total of the remaining Index reviews is now 142.
