A medida que pasa el tiempo, nuestras prendas artesanales pueden perder el brillo de los diferentes herrajes, causados principalmente por el contacto con la piel, sudoración y la interacción con el medio ambiente; sin embargo, cuando utilizamos piedras naturales y cristales de buena calidad, dichas piezas pueden ser reutilizadas dando origen a una nueva prenda de joyería.
Para esta oportunidad, he querido renovar una de mis prendas favoritas: una pulsera realizada en mis primeras colecciones, justamente cuando apenas iniciaba en el aprendizaje de técnicas; la pulsera está compuesta de piedras naturales de ojo de gato rosado, mostacillas y cristales de Swarovsky transparentes, a las que he decidido añadir cristales con colores complementarios, que permitan combinar con diversos estilos.
As time goes by, our handmade jewellery can lose the shine of the different fittings, mainly caused by contact with the skin, perspiration and interaction with the environment; however, when we use natural stones and crystals of good quality, these pieces can be reused giving rise to a new piece of jewellery.
For this opportunity, I wanted to renew one of my favourite garments: a bracelet made in my first collections, just when I was just starting to learn the techniques; the bracelet is composed of natural pink cat's eye stones, beads and clear Swarovsky crystals, to which I decided to add crystals with complementary colours, which allow to combine with different outfits.

Lo primero que haremos, es separar todos los componentes de la pulsera a reciclar, retirando los diferentes herrajes dañados. Procedemos a limpiar las piedras, sumergiéndolas en un poco de agua con sal, asimismo, me gusta colocar cerca un incienso con un aroma agradable, para armonizar el ambiente.
Tomamos el hilo de bisutería nro. 18 e introducimos una perla dorada, una piedra natural y otra perla dorada, realizamos un nudo rosario ambos extremos, colocando el broche tipo caimán en uno de sus lados, tal como se muestra en la foto.
The first thing to do is to separate all the components of the bracelet to be recycled, removing the different damaged fittings.
We proceed to clean the stones by immersing them in a little salt water, and I like to place a pleasantly scented incense nearby to harmonise the atmosphere.
We take the costume jewellery thread no. 18 and we introduce a golden pearl, a natural stone and another golden pearl, we make a rosary knot at both ends, placing the alligator clasp on one of its sides, as shown in the photo.
Ahora, realizamos un eslabón diferente: dentro del hilo de bisutería nro. 20, añadimos: dos cristales de Swarovsky de 3mm, dos perlas doradas y un cristal de Swarovsky de 6mm, lo colocaremos de manera armónica y uniremos a la pieza anterior repitiendo el nudo rosario.
Continuamos realizando eslabones de manera alternada; una vez culminada la pieza, le agregaremos un cristal en el último eslabón de la pulsera de manera decorativa.
Now, we make a different link: inside the costume jewellery thread no. 20, we add: two 3mm Swarovsky crystals, two golden pearls and a 6mm Swarovsky crystal, we will place it in a harmonic way and we will join it to the previous piece repeating the rosary knot.
We continue making alternating links; once the piece is finished, we will add a crystal in the last link of the bracelet in a decorative way.
Añadiremos elementos decorativos, al gusto personal; recuerda cortar muy bien los extremos para evitar que rasguñen la piel. de ésta manera hemos culminado nuestra pulsera; ahora, vamos a realizar unos aretes a juego, ya que nos quedan varias piezas libres.
We will add decorative elements, according to personal taste; remember to cut the ends very well to avoid scratching the leather. In this way we have finished our bracelet; now, we are going to make matching earrings, as we have several pieces left.
Realizamos tres eslabones de piezas unidas entre sí, utilizando alambre de bisutería nro 18; colocamos cada una de la piezas en las bases para los aretes que hemos realizado previamente; asimismo, cuidamos los detalles y colocamos broches de silicón a los aretes para evitar que se caigan.
