Hola amigos, espero que estén muy bien. Estos días han sido muy calurosos en este pedacito del mundo. La ciudad donde vivo siempre ha tenido altas temperaturas, pero últimamente el calor ha sido más fuerte. El ambiente caluroso me incomoda mucho la vida, me debilita e impide desarrollar mis actividades con normalidad. Entonces paso mucho rato frente al ventilador sentada o acostada en mi cama. Hacer manualidades mientras el ventilador está encendido no es muy fácil, por ello siempre busco realizar proyectos tejidos ya que son pocos los materiales que debo usar y el aire no los mueve mucho.
Para no estar sin hacer nada me he propuesto tejer apliques pequeños. Tengo la idea de tenerlos como muestras para usar como prendedores o quizá para decorar cualquier otro proyecto. Así mismo como estoy tejiendo flores, hojas y mariposas, estos apliques me podrán ser útiles más adelante.

Hello friends, I hope you are very well. These days have been very hot in this little piece of the world. The city where I live has always had high temperatures, but lately the heat has been stronger. The hot environment makes my life very uncomfortable, weakens me and prevents me from carrying out my activities normally. So I spend a lot of time in front of the fan sitting or lying on my bed. Doing handicrafts while the fan is on is not very easy, so I always try to make woven projects since there are few materials to use and the air does not move them much.
In order not to be idle I have decided to knit small appliqués. I have the idea of having them as samples to use as pins or maybe to decorate any other project. Just as I am knitting flowers, leaves and butterflies, these appliqués could be useful to me later on.

Fun appliques for future projects.

Tengo todavía en mi gaveta una bolsita de ojos locos o móviles, desde los más pequeños hasta unos más o menos grandes. No son muchos, pero hay como para hacer varios apliques divertidos para usar después en los proyectos que lo ameriten.
Empecé tejiendo una carita graciosa de cabellos colorados. Algo que me encantó de este aplique es que le coloqué el cabello con hilos de colores llamativos y los ojos locos o móviles.

I still have in my drawer a bag of crazy eyes or mobiles, from the smallest to some more or less big ones. There aren't many, but there are enough to make several fun appliqués to use later in projects that merit it.
I started by weaving a funny little face with red hair. One thing I loved about this applique is that I attached the hair with brightly colored yarns and the crazy or moving eyes.

• Para tejer estas caritas usé hilos pabilos, hilos de estambre, aguja de crochet de 2,25mm, ojos locos, aguja lanera, tijeras, pegamento y mostacillas.

• Empecé tejiendo 10 puntos altos dentro de un anillo mágico. Luego tejí una vuelta de solo aumentos de puntos altos. La tercera vuelta la tejí de 1punto alto y 1aumento hasta completar toda la vuelta. Cerré y rematé.

• Para hacer el cabello usé el hilo de estambre. Lo enganché en uno de los puntos altos con punto deslizado. Tejí 5cadenas y sobre esas cadenas tejí 2puntos bajos en cada punto cadena. Esto hace que se enrosque el tejido y se convierta en un cabello rulo. Tejí 12 veces este paso ocupando 12 puntos altos de la base.

• To knit these faces I used pabilos yarns, worsted yarns, 2.25mm crochet needle, crazy eyes, wool needle, scissors, glue and beads.

• I started by knitting 10 double crochet stitches inside a magic ring. Then I knitted a round of just increases of double crochet stitches. The third row I knitted 1 row of 1 double crochet and 1 double crochet until the whole row was completed. I closed and finished off.

• To make the hair I used worsted yarn. I hooked it in one of the high stitches with slipped stitch. I knit 5 chains and over those chains I knit 2 low stitches in each chain stitch. This causes the weave to curl up and become a hair curl. I knitted 12 times this step occupying 12 high stitches of the base.

• Los ojos locos los fijé con silicón frío y la boca se la bordé con hilo pabilo usando la aguja lanera. ¡Se ven divertidos!

• The crazy eyes I fixed with cold silicone and the mouth I embroidered with wick yarn using the wool needle, they look fun!

• El segundo aplique consiste en tejer dos círculos; uno grande y otro pequeño. La idea es simular la forma de una oveja. Como pueden ver quise tejer una blanca y una negra.

• Empecé tejiendo 6 puntos bajos dentro de un anillo mágico. Luego tejí 6 aumentos de puntos bajos. En la siguiente vuelta tejí 1pb-1aum. En la que sigue 2pb-1aum. En la siguiente 3pb-1aum y en la última 4pb-1aum. Decoré toda esa última vuelta tejiendo en los colores que pueden ver para cada una, una vuelta de puntos: 1 cadena-1 punto deslizado.

• En el círculo negro tejí está vuelta en color blanco y la verdad es que no lucía bien, entonces lo destejí y repetí en color negro.

• Luego tejí el círculo más pequeño, iniciando con 6 puntos bajos en un anillo mágico. Luego una vuelta de 6 aumentos de pb y finalmente una vuelta de 1pb-1aum.

• En la parte de arriba del círculo tejí una cadena de 4 puntos, un pb sobre cada uno de eso puntos, luego tejí sobre el círculo 3 puntos deslizados, otra cadena de 4 puntos y cuatro puntos bajos en las cadenas. Finalicé con un punto deslizado. Corté la hebra y la escondí.

• The second applique consists of knitting two circles; one large and one small. The idea is to simulate the shape of a sheep. As you can see I wanted to knit a white and a black one.

• I started by knitting 6 single crochet stitches inside a magic ring. Then I knit 6 increases of single crochet. In the next round I knit 1pb-1aum. In the next round I knit 2pb-1aum. In the next 3pb-1aum and in the last 4pb-1aum. I decorated all that last row by knitting in the colors you can see for each one, one row of stitches: 1 chain-1 slip stitch.

• In the black circle I knitted this round in white color and the truth is that it didn't look good, so I unknitted it and repeated in black color.

• Then I knit the smaller circle, starting with 6 low stitches in a magic ring. Then a round of 6 bp increases and finally a round of 1pb-1aum.

• At the top of the circle I knit a chain of 4 stitches, a bp over each of those stitches, then knit over the circle 3 slipped stitches, another chain of 4 stitches and four single crochets in the chains. I finished with a slip stitch. I cut the yarn and hid it.

• Estas ovejitas tienen cuatro patas que realicé tejiendo cadenas de 10 puntos. Las fijé con pd en la parte inferior del círculo grande o cuerpo de la oveja. Fijé los ojos con pegamento, pero antes le había bordado con hilo negro. Todo fue ir probando y ver cómo se veían. Ahora podré tener el patrón y modelos para hacer más ovejas en el futuro.

• These sheep have four legs that I made by knitting chains of 10 stitches. I fixed them with pd on the bottom of the big circle or body of the sheep. I fixed the eyes with glue, but before I had embroidered them with black thread. It was all a matter of trying and seeing how they looked. Now I will be able to have the pattern and models to make more sheep in the future.
