How to make a cutter

in DIYHublast year (edited)

One thing about me that has cost me many times in my life is that when I set my mind to something, I have to do it immediately or never. And now I decided to make an elephant-shaped polymer clay cutter. Of course, I didn't have any cans and a piece of tin to do it. But what must be done, must be done. Balthazar (check the cartoon) "turned on her machine" and remembered that she had some kind of pipe clamp that she bought a long time ago, it's unclear why. Probably because of this.🙃 😂

I drew the elephant in Corel Draw and printed it.

I took another pair of pliers because the metal of this clamp is quite strong and started to bend along the line of the drawing.

The length of the metal was longer than I needed, so I twisted the metal in both directions with a pair of pliers to break it. I managed to do that only with the part where the metal was perforated, otherwise, I would have broken off the part with the screw first.

Unintentionally twisting the sheet, I broke another piece I shouldn't have, but it didn't cause me a problem. ...because I decided to get some tin tomorrow and make more cutters. I managed to do everything with only one scratch on my hand. Another thing about me is that when I don't do something 100% right, I'll do it again.
So either I won't even start or I'll repeat it to perfection..and then one more time until I fail again.

Nevertheless, I decided to try the cutter and I have to admit that it works perfectly. I took a piece of FIMO that was left when I made the pink ring (of course it's a pink elephant) and added a little turquoise.

When I finished with the cutter, I made a circle with a tube and processed the edges.

Looks pretty good, doesn't it? Still to be baked.

The photos were taken with a phone.

That's persistence!

This looks more than good to me, especially the turquoise mix. What is this elephant going to be? Pendant perhaps?

...or impatience?😊 Brooch, forgot to mention. Thank you @alt3r!

Brooch 😍 I adore those ones!

Hmmm, impatience sounds familiar, but let's call it persistence 😋

You're welcome. Keep up the great work.

What must be done, must be done. But for me, obstacle may occur anytime. You made the cutter well.

Thank you @agbogo! Obstacles can always appear for everyone.
