Closing Up For Christmas

Good afternoon to you all and thanks for stopping by and supporting us.

It's been nearly 2 weeks since the last post, which sadly has a couple of reasons for that.

First off, A week ago there was a scheduled post set up ready for going out at 8pm UTC. But there seems to have been an issue with the front end I have been using for the Woodpeckers posts. As of today I am going to stop using that front end as it very rarely works, but it's getting ridiculous now trying to use the thing. So that's gone in the bin. I will be moving onto another front end that actually works!

Next up is the issue with the phone I have been using to take the pictures in the workshop.
I had it set up and recording us making the Christmas Trees, but the power went and now that phone is dead. Completely and utterly dead. Shorted out when the fuse box tripped. I have been trying to get the pictures off but the phone did smoke quite a bit so now I've lost the photos and videos.
Now this wouldn't have been too bad if the previous post had been published. I would have only lost 1 weeks worth of photos but hey ho, it seems we are being hit from all angles with some rather frustrating issues this last couple of months.

Now we get to the actual activities we have been doing

The kids finally agreed on making some Christmas Trees!
It was great fun and they made some cracking trees. There was photos galore but they took the trees home with them so I can't take any new pictures yet. I have asked their parents if they can send me some over but it's a bit of a slow response so far.
We ended up with green, black and red trees. It was a lovely bit of chaos and I loved the whole time we spent on them. But together they do look like someone who is colour blind has painted them 😅

This weeks planned project
The next few weeks until after the New Year we have closed up the workshop as the kids have a lot going on. From school plays to family time, so we agreed to close up now and start the New Year with some fun new builds.

I am potentially going to start building a gaming table, just unsure on the sizing yet. IT's still a plan in progress for now.

Other bits

Still raising the funds for the new wiring for the workshop. A long ol way to go, but hoping to get there one day.
We are still stuck using mostly hand tools and battery powered tools. but it's good experience for us all so we will keep going until the wiring is done.

After receiving some advice from a fellow Hive user, I reached out to the @valueplan to see if they were open to sponsoring us. So far no responses, but if they do get back to me it would be great.
I am saving a little bit of my own rewards to put towards a nice piece of wood for our Hive Logo advertising that will be going on the workshop. Wood is getting quite costly here so if I can get some additional help then I'm all for it.
I am considering Beech at the moment as it is cheaper than most other species for a 3 foot board to do the Hive Logo on.
