Good morning fellow diy friends.
Today I want to share with us the step by step process of how I made a new African print fabric dress for my niece. Her elder sister who is also my niece will be graduating preliminary school next week and we celebrating her.

Their mum who is my sister has bought the fabric so that I can make a new dress for the celebrant. In the midst of a tight budget I have used the available resources in the house to make the celebrant dress. Since everyone will be wearing sometime nice for their graduation I didn’t want my niece to fell odd among them. I made her a simple dress that is being embellished for her party.

Upon reaching the house to deliver her dress my other niece here who is barely 4years became sad giving me this countenance that made me feel sorry. I wonder where this little girl learnt to be jealous of her elder sis, children can be so amusing.

She wasn’t in good mood throughout the time I was there in the end I had no choice than to take her measurements and promise her a dress also.

I really do not have any fabric I can use to make something for her hence I picked the scraps from the her sisters outfit and joined several pieces to make a whole. The celebrant sis is also a celebrant and the party organizers should bear with us that my little girl will be sharing in their outfit uniform.

Here I have used a neckline measurements or 2 by 3 inches for from block of her dress
And a 2 by 1 inch’s for the back

Chest measurements of 20”
Cutting the lining in the exact manner as well

Then I pulled a gathered for the lower part of the dress

The lining was used to turn the upper part

And while I was yet done with the stitching my niece came visiting

I gave her the dress to try it on and you can imagine the joy on her face when she kept touching and admiring her dress from every angle.

It was a little wonder to me that these little kids understand a lot of things and do not want to be cheated out of anything.
I was just glad that I managed fabrics to make something for her to avoid the unfair treatment that would have kept her sad on her sisters graduation. Everyone has one nice to wear to the party at least.

Thanks you for visiting my blog and see you in my next tutorial.
