CREATING VINTAGE SPATULA [ENG/ESP]

Hola HIVE espero que todos se encuentren muy bien expresando su creatividad con el arte.
Since I've been studying fine arts, I've come to understand the need to acquire tools that allow me to improve when producing artistic creations. Step by step, whenever I can, I invest in those tools, or else I create them myself, as is the case on this occasion when I'm here to share with you how I created a tool that I needed to begin practicing a different painting technique done with a spatula.
Desde que estoy estudiando artes plásticas he ido comprendiendo la necesidad de ir adquiriendo herramientas que me permitan mejorar a la hora de producir creaciones artísticas, paso a paso cada vez que puedo invierto en esas herramientas o si no las creo yo mismo, como es el caso de esta ocasión en la que les vengo a compartir como cree una herramienta que me hacía falta para comenzar a practicar con la pintura una técnica diferente realizada con espátula.
Since I needed a small spatula to do these painting exercises, I decided to make one myself. I remembered I had a knife from a cutlery set that had gradually lost all its parts over time, leaving only the butter knives. So I decided to use it to create the small spatula.
Como necesitaba una pequeña espátula para poder realizar esas prácticas de pintura, decidí hacerla yo mismo, recordé que tenía guardado un cuchillo de un juego de cubiertos que con el tiempo se fueron desapareciendo todas las piezas y solo quedaron los cuchillos mantequilleros; así que decidí usarlo para crear la pequeña espátula.
Using a grinder, I made several cuts in the knife blade and managed to give it the proper shape I needed. Then, using pliers, I made a couple of bends so it resembled a professional painting knife. This was the result of that experiment; I really loved how it turned out on my first try.
Usando un esmeril realice varios cortes en la hoja del cuchillo y logre darle la forma adecuada que requería, luego con unas pinzas le hice un par de doblez para que se pareciera a una espátula profesional de pintura. Este fue el resultado de ese experimento, de verdad me encanto como quedo al primer intento.
I liked it so much that I decided to use three more knives I had left to make a complete set of spatulas in different shapes.
Me gusto tanto como quedo que decidí usar tres cuchillos más que me quedaban para hacerme un juego completo de espátulas de diferentes formas.
I drew designs on the knife blades that would guide me when making the cuts with the emery board. Of course, I first looked up references online to see the types of spatulas used for painting, and from there I came up with the designs I found most useful.
Dibuje en las hojas de los cuchillos los diseños con los que me guiaría para hacer los cortes con el esmeril; claro que primero busque referencias en internet para ver los tipos de espátulas que se usan para pintar y de allí saque los diseños que considere más útiles.
This was the final result of this wonderful creative experiment that allowed me to have my own palette knives for painting. I loved the result so much that I've been showing them to several fellow artists, and they've all been fascinated with these pieces. They even helped me name them "The Vintage Spatula" for their unique design. Now I can begin my painting practice on large canvases using the palette knife technique. I hope you enjoy this post. Este fue el resultado final de este grandioso experimento creativo que me permitió tener mis propias espátulas para pintar, como me encanto el resultado se las he estado enseñando a varios colegas artistas y todos han quedado fascinados con esas piezas, hasta me ayudaron a bautizarlas como "El Espatulario Vintage" por el diseño único que tienen; ahora si puedo comenzar mis prácticas de pintura en lienzos grandes con la técnica de la espátula. Bastante interesante, que de unos cuchillos hicieras más herramientas para tu trabajo y quedaran tan creativas y útiles, yo he hecho herramientas para perforar el cuero con hojas de segueta para no comprarlas y gastar dinero pero tu trabajo es otro nivel.
