THE CONCEPTUALIZATION OF MOVEMENT | PLASTIC ARTS EXERCISES [ENG/ESP]

Hola HIVE espero que todos se encuentren muy bien haciendo muchas creaciones artísticas.
In the Mixed Media classes at the arts university we continue doing exercises to understand the facets that can be involved in a plastic work, such as the use of the correct material that lasts over time, light, sound, and movement; I have previously shared with the community the material and Light exercises, I did the sound exercise (it is the one in the photo that appears above) but as I was not going to be able to represent the sound in the publication, unless I made a video, I did not want to publish it, but it consisted of a mechanism that I made with some aluminum cans and when friction was generated it generated a sound very similar to the one produced in the part where the subway cars join (since my research topic this semester is the Metro of the city of Caracas). On this occasion I come to share the "movement" exercise.
En las clases de Medios Mixtos en la universidad de artes seguimos realizando ejercicios para comprender las facetas que puede involucrar una obra plástica, como el uso del material correcto que perdure en el tiempo, la luz, el sonido, y el movimiento; ya anterior mente he compartido con la comunidad los ejercicios de material y el de Luz, el ejercicio de sonido lo hice (es el de la foto que aparece arriba) pero como no iba a poder representar el sonido en la publicación, a menos que realizara un video, no lo quise publicar, pero consistía en un mecanismo que realice con unas latas de aluminio y al generarse una fricción generaba un sonido muy parecido el que se produce en la parte donde se unen los vagones del metro (ya que mi tema de investigación en este semestre es el Metro de la ciudad de Caracas). En esta ocasión vengo a compartir el ejercicio de "movimiento".
To make it, use cardboard as the main material, cut three strips 4 cm wide and 28 cm long; when folding these strips, a square was created with small folds in the corners.
Para realizarlo use el cartón como material principal, recorte tres tiras de 4 cm de ancho y 28 cm de largo; al doblar estas tiras se generaba un cuadrado con unos pequeños dobleces en las esquinas.
I fixed these square modules to a rectangular base by gluing them 3 cm apart from each other; I made small legs for the two end modules so that they were slightly raised and separated from the base.
Estos módulos cuadrados los fijé a una base rectangular pegándolos con una separación de 3 cm uno del otro; a los dos módulos de los extremos les hice unas pequeñas patas para que estuvieran un poco elevados y separados de la base.
The central module will be held in tension with some rubber bands. Use some pins to secure the rubber bands to the modules at the ends. Perform several tests to find the correct tension, since the objective consists of using magnets, one attached to the base under the central module and another attached to the module that is left hanging in tension with the rubber bands. The force of attraction of the magnets and the tension of the rubber bands will generate a constant movement. Well, that is the theory; the exercise is not yet solved.
El módulo central quedara elevado en tensión con unas ligas, use unos pines para fijar las ligas a los módulos de los extremos, realice varias pruebas para buscar la tensión correcta, ya que el objetivo consiste en usar unos imanes, uno pegado a la base debajo del módulo central y otro pegado al módulo que queda colgando en tensión con las ligas. la fuerza de atracción de los imanes y la tensión de las ligas generaran un movimiento constante, bueno esa es la teoría, el ejercicio todavía no está resuelto.
After I discarded the pins I wasn’t going to use and had the tension I was looking for with the exact number of rubber bands, I began to paint the entire piece. I continue working with the color palette from the previous exercise, to continue representing the subway car, I used gray for the exterior and black for the interior of the modules. These exercises have really helped me to visualize all the aspects that I am going to implement in my final semester project, which is going to be an immersive installation. When I have presented it, I will publish that experience. I hope you like this post, good vibes.
Luego que descarte los pines que no iba a usar y ya tenía la tensión que buscaba con la cantidad de ligas exactas, comencé a pintar toda la pieza, sigo trabajando la paleta de colores del anterior ejercicio realizado, para seguir representando el vagón del metro, use color gris para el exterior y negro para el interior de los módulos. Estos ejercicios de verdad me han servido para poder visualizar todos los aspectos que voy a implementar en mi proyecto final de semestre, que va a ser una instalación inmersiva, cuando la haya presentado publicare esa experiencia; espero que este post sea de su agrado, buenas vibras.

It’s amazing how you’re combining tension and magnets to create movement in your artwork. This sounds like a great exercise to build up to your immersive installation. Thank you for sharing.
