I hope this week has been treating you well so far!

Happy Birthday Smudge!

Today's post is dedicated to our old lady kitty Smudge, because today is her 20th birthday!

20 is definitely a very impressive age for a cat, and we are very grateful that Smudge is still with us and doing as well as she is!

Whereas she is almost completely blind in one eye, she still gets around pretty well.

Smudge is extra furry in the wintertime, with her thick winter coat!

Of course, Smudge isn't really into parties and celebrating at her ripe old age, but she did enjoy some extra treats this morning, along with a bit of a brushing from the Mom-Hooman.

Because of her very long winter coat, she will soon get a pretty thorough haircut... which has to be done very late spring.

Like all good cats, she will likely use the occasion to enjoy some really good naps!

Smudge still gets around... just not very fast

I suppose the only thing that would make the day better for her might be if the sun came out for a nice sun puddle for her naps... but I'm afraid it is rather gloomy and dark today, with intermittent rain.

Still, she doesn't seem to mind too much!

Smudge really likes her fuzzy gray blanket... it's very soft!*

The rest of us are doing our best to help the busy Hoomans with their work, and I am helping the Dad-Hooman with his artwork. He actually likes having my supervision, as long as I stay in the white woven basket by his work area... he tells me that cats and paint don't mix well, and I'll accept that... because it does smell a bit nasty.

Maybe someone should invent chicken or fish scented paint!

Smudge is almost entirely blind in her left eye, but she still knows where she's going!

There are a number of other feline communities listed on Hive, but I am not sharing them for now as they have not had any activity (by their Admins OR users) since the Steem/Hive fork. Updates as they become available!
