Greetings, Fabulous Felines and Hoomans of Hivelandia and surrounding communities!

I hope everyone has had a good week so far, and that you're having a fun and loving Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day, everyone!

Today is the worldwide day of love, so remember to also love your Feline friends a little bit extra.

At the same time, please remember that whereas we love to have extra treats, chocolate is actually dangerous for cats, so please don't give us chocolate!

The thing about chocolate is that it contains both caffeine as well as a compound called theobromine, neither of which we cats are capable of processing and breaking down. As such, chocolate can cause us not only to become very ill but it can be fatal if it if it is given to us in too great a quantity.

APPROPRIATE treats, please!

Most adults are probably aware of this already, but it is important that you Hoomans tell your children who might think it would be "cute" to give their furry friends some chocolate for Valentine's Day.

Just don't!

Also be mindful that the extra chocolate and candy in the house isn't left opened and laying around where cats (and dogs, for that matter!) can get into it!

If you want to really make us happy — and improve our quality of life for Valentine's Day — then spend a little extra time playing with us! Or — if you must play on the whole heart theme — you could give us a little heart-shaped bag filled with catnip! Most specialty pet stores have them, this time of the year.

We're now going to go back to enjoying our Friday naps and getting prepared for Caturday tomorrow. Remember to pull out all your best cat pictures and share them with the world on Saturday because Saturday is Caturday.

There are a number of other feline communities listed on Hive, but I am not sharing them for now as they have not had any activity (by their Admins OR users) since the Steem/Hive fork. Updates as they become available!
