From Raindrops to Resilience: A Nighttime Adventure

Hello, everyone. I hope you're all doing well. Today I'd like to relay an uncommon incident that I had witnessed a few days ago. As we enter the holy month of Ramadan, we get up every night to eat Sheri. We all know how important this month is to every Muslim. We fast every day; normally in the evening, we have our Ifter, then after prayer, we have dinner, go to bed, and wake up at 4 o'clock. That day, we followed the same routine. However, at night, it poured from the sky, with storms raging all around. I can hear the door heating the porch as the wind demonstrates superpowers. Despite hearing everything, I was too sluggish to get out of bed and instead chose to wrap my feet with a light blanket and sleep.

It rained all night, and the murmur of droplets awakened me up. It was 2 a.m., and I hardly opened my eyes. I slowly opened my eyes and went out of bed to investigate the strange sound coming from the dining room. My father was standing in the middle, full of water, wiping water from the floor using a bucket and mug. I was floored!! I was now wondering where all this water was coming from. Then I dashed into my younger brother's room, where the floor was likewise flooded. My younger brother had no idea what was going on because he was sound asleep. My mother woke him up and told him to hurry get something and start cleaning the water off the floor, or this sudden flash flood would destroy all of our wooden furniture. My brother was so slow to get up, then slowly went to the restroom; at the time, I was thinking to myself, "Oh my lazy brother, come fast and help us get rid of this problem, don't act like nothing happened."

But I'm curiously gazing around to identify the source of this water. And finally discovered the cause of my younger brother's corridor: all water was flowing directly from the top floor into his corridor, and the sole exit through the roof's balcony was blocked. The cause of this block was the dirt from the roof. This was the reason why all of the water flowed from his balcony to his room, and then to another room. I swiftly used a tiny stick to open the balcony exit, allowing all of the water to stream through.

Now comes the difficult part: remove all of the water from the floor and clean it. It's nearly 2:30 a.m., and my younger brother and I are pouring water bucket after bucket into the restroom, almost at the finish line. After an hour, we completed our task, but we were exhausted. It was already 3:30 a.m., which was Sheri's time. After our Sheri and my prayer, I went to bed. It was a hectic night with insufficient sleep, and I was fatigued. I was thinking about my office and praying that I would be able to survive tomorrow.

This event serves as a reminder of the importance of persistence and unity, in times during the peaceful month of Ramadan. Let's stay strong, in our beliefs and stand by each other as we move forward in this month.
