গোবরে পদ্মফুল!

I have never tried drowsy writing. But this is something I should probably get used to. Midnights and beyond are apparently supposed to produce some of the best pieces of literature, but while I'm on the duty roster the days are extremely exhausting. Dhaka streets and its air doesn't make things easier. It's like breathing poison on a daily basis.

So by the time time the clock strikes the golden hours for elite literature, I'm a drowsy mess struggling to hardly keep both eyes apart. With eyelids as heavy as a boulder of rock, I'm running my fingers frantically over the keyboard in the hopes of unearthing something, anything. But this is destined to be shit, we know that.

Oh well, shit is important too. গোবর না থাকলে গোবরে পদ্মফুল কোত্থেকে আসবে শুনি! বৃষ্টি বাদলার দিনে বোধহয় কদম ফুল নিয়ে লিখলেই ভালো হতো।

জানালার বাইরে ঝড় তুফানের শীতল ছিটেফোঁটা যখন গ্রীলের ফাঁক দিয়ে শোঁ শোঁ করে এসে অন্যমনস্ক করে দিয়ে যায়, তখন যেন একটু রবীন্দ্র সংগীত না শুনলেই নয়। বৃষ্টি নিয়ে গানের অভাব নেই ঠিকই, কিন্তু সেই শত বছর আগের লেখা কবিগুরুর সাহিত্য সবসময় গুরুই রয়ে যাবে।

বাইরে বাতাস তীব্র থেকে তীব্রতর হয়ে চলছে। দিনের বেলা হলে বলা যেত আকাশ কালো হয়ে আসছে। কিন্তু মধ্যরাত বরাবরের মতই রহস্যময়।

আশেপাশে কোথাও কদম ফুলের গাছ নেই। আজকাল অবশ্য আগের মত রাস্তার মোড়ে মোড়ে আর কদম গাছ থাকে না। কোনো এক ঝড়ের বিকেলে একদিন আমার এলোকেশী কে নিয়ে কদম ফুল কুড়াতে পারলে মন্দ হতো না।

আজ শ্রাবণের আমন্ত্রণে দুয়ার কাঁপে....
