The first time I read the announcement that splinterland will be introducing Land to the splinterverse, I was really surprised but not shocked since I know the team will always have plan in plans before introducing land, it actually serve as a purpose but literally a game changer, I do see the game as a warrior battle but things change, users especially newbies who have interest in the game can easily decide to either play the game or buy land and farm or either do both. On the onset, I really have little knowledge about land in general but it is quite a thing to look into, many players saw it as a big bet once the team are done with the incoming updates
The main purpose according to the team is to give players access to own land within Praetoria, as a land owner, you get to stake your cards and also construct worksites on those owned plots in order for you to earn different resources as reward. Currently we have up to 150k land plots which I know isn't fully acquired and this plot are into 7 territories and each have their own regions, tracts and plots, these are first thing to understand. A Plot is a piece of land and it is into two, the one surveyed already which you can buy from other players within the game internal market or the unsurveyed plots from other non-card market. When up to 100 plots come together, it turn to a Tracts and every Tract is to have a plot that contain either a keep or castle, Lastly is a Region which consist of 1000 plots and each region get 1 plot that have the castle and other 9 with keeps.
The main question is What Kind Of Land To Buy?, getting into the land ecosystem with the aim to earn well isnt a child play so you will need enough investment (money) to venture into this, you will surely need to get a surveyed land to skip the beginner process but you have to decide which Rarity you will be going to, we have from common rarity to Legendary and with what I saw so far, the higher the rarity, the chance of getting interesting bonus in production boosts on your land, we also have the terrain type of land you wish to go for which determined the kind of cards, certain elements aren't allowed on certain terrain, some increase your production if you use the right elements, while wrong element attract up to -50% as penalty, so it is very important to study the terrain type well enough
Terrian type
Resources
Currently we have up to 4 resources which each plot could produce, we have Grains which main purpose is to feed your plot workers, we also have Research which you can produce to and use in acquiring advance knowledge in developing your plots. when used, it can unlock levels in getting more production, you can also farm SPS which is also one of the game token, more resources will be introduce to the system with time especially when Land 2.0 arrive. The Production Points is another aspect to actually understand, on each plot, your cards are your workers and the kind of element you need to use depend on the terrain type to either get 10% boost or get penalized, but the rarity of such cards will determine your production points and also the boosts attached, the higher the rarity and level, the more the production points read more. To venture into splinterverse lands, it is best to understand the In and Out of the place, do enough research to know what kind of land you will be going for and how to maximize your production rewards for more rewards but note, it require investment at some point.
