Near me there is no south sea or beautiful mountains. Yes, there is ordinary nature and it is beautiful. But I want new impressions and new results. Old lenses hide a lot of surprises, it is always interesting with them.
You may be impatient, but you are able to wake up early and hit the road towards dawn. Not everyone can do that. This is one of your strengths :)
Your old cameras can become still life photo models or beautiful and respected exhibits on a shelf. They deserve it :)

It's beautiful everywhere, you just have to open your eyes and look like you do, because you see the beauty where you live.
It's good that you try your old lenses - first you get unique photos and secondly you learn from it I think :)
Yes, I like it when I see the old cameras on the shelf and how hard it was to photograph in the old days. I mean not hard to take the photos, but hard to wait and see if you have made the right settings :) Nowadays it's easy, because you see the result at once, and if you don't like it you delete it and take a new one, or enhance the photo in Photoshop ;)

I agree, the use of old lenses is always a new discovery: D
It used to be harder to take photos. But the photographer came to each shot more carefully and consciously. It was an expensive and long process that did not forgive mistakes. But I like the digital format more. Great opportunities are hidden in it.

That's very true - they had to think more and know more about the ambient light, what aperture and shutter speed they need. Of course sometimes they have made multiple shots trying different settings, but each shot cost money and they had to think about that too.
I prefer digital because it's so easy to correct wrong settings and it costs nothing but time and a SD card which you buy once ;)
The time you spend with calculating the correct photo settings when you use a film camera you can spend on your photo motif and on the composition, and the time you safe by using a digital camera you can use to lean back, relax and enjoy the scene 🙂

I picked up a lens for monocle experiments. This is a lens from an old movie camera. Now you need to figure out how to install it and you can begin to experiment.

that's what I meant, you take your time and think of experiments, you have an old lens and find a way to mount it on a modern digital camera, just to see what the pictures would look like. You have the cool curiosity of a scientist and also th e patience and the imagination - that's great 👍🙂
And what's also great is that you let us be part of your experiments by showing us what you do, how you do it and of course you show us the results, which are very cool photos in my eyes 🙂
