This is my entry for the phone photography contest moderated by @untilwelearn. I'm sharing with you once again a remarkable building on Sucre Street, which stands out for its diverse colonial houses. Some are museum houses, others are government offices, and there's also a church, a grotto, and fortresses, all striking for their vibrant colors and eye-catching designs. My son and I started our walk from Zamora Square and stopped in front of the Minor Basilica of Santa Inés. We've visited this area several times, but this time we went in the afternoon, which allowed us to see the colorful lights of the church's towers.
Hola, hola amigos amantes de la fotografía es un placer saludarles deseando que tengan un bendecido fin de semana en unión de sus seres queridos, esta es mi entrada para el concurso de fotografía telefónica moderado por @untilwelearn, les comparto nuevamente una destacada construcción de la calle Sucre, la cual resalta por las diversas casas coloniales que alberga, algunas son casas museo, otras corresponden a oficinas del estado, iglesia, gruta y fortalezas, las cuales son llamativas por sus vistosos colores y llamativos diseños; en compañía de mi hijo, iniciamos el recorrido desde la plaza Zamora e hicimos al frente de la basílica menor Santa Inés, hemos visitado varias veces esta zona, pero en esta oportunidad fuimos en horas de la tarde lo cual nos permitió ver las luces coloridas de las torres de la mencionada iglesia.
The church is very important to the city, as it was the baptism of Antonio José de Sucre, a native of Cumaná. Furthermore, last year it was elevated to a minor basilica. Its design is beautiful and corresponds to the Neo-Renaissance style. It is light yellow and white, surrounded by a perimeter fence with LED lights and several staircases at the front and sides where cultural events are held to celebrate the city's birthday on the 27th of this month.
I have rarely seen the church in the afternoon, and I enjoyed the view, as the colors and lights of the stained-glass windows that adorn the different spaces of the church are clearly visible. This grand building is a state heritage site. In the photographs, we can see the towers, part of the central nave and the side aisle, as well as the rear dome where the altar is located. During Cumaná's birthday celebration, the church becomes one of the most visited places by the city's inhabitants and people who come to the region to participate in this beautiful celebration.
La iglesia es muy importante para la ciudad, pues en ella se bautizó el prócer cumanés Antonio José de Sucre, además el año pasado fue elevada a basílica menor, su diseño es muy bonito y corresponde al estilo neo renacentista, es de color amarillo claro con blanco, tiene alrededor una cerca perimetral, con lámparas led y varias escaleras frontales y laterales donde se realizan eventos culturales para festejar el cumpleaños de la ciudad que es el 27 del presente mes.
En muy pocas oportunidades he visto la estructura de la iglesia en la tarde, la vista me gustó pues se aprecian los colores y las luces de los vitrales que adornan los diferentes espacios de la iglesia, esta gran construcción constituye un patrimonio del estado, en las fotografías podemos observar las torres, parte de la nave central y el pasillo lateral también la cúpula posterior donde se ubica el altar, durante celebración del cumpleaños de Cumaná la iglesia se convierte en uno de los lugares más visitado por los habitantes de la ciudad y personas que se dan cita a la región para participar en esta hermosa celebración.
