I'm aiming to post one of these each Sunday. They aren't a replacement for the excellent daily prompts from @worldbuilding they're just an extra opportunity if you have a writing itch you want to scratch. 😀

The prompt this week is - Outlaw
In Anglo-Saxon England, making someone an outlaw had a fairly precise definition. Being an outlaw quite literally put you outside the protection of law. Usually, all property and wealth were confiscated, and within a defined boundary (parish, county or even the whole country) anyone could do anything they liked to you (up to and including murder) without consequences. It was possible to get outlawry removed, but it required turning up at court in person, which of course was a risk ! Famous outlaws included folk heroes like Robin Hood and Hereward the Wake.
Is there a similar concept in your setting ? What kind of offense warrants it ? Who is authorised to impose it ? Are there any limits or routes for redemption for outlaws ? Tell me a story of outlaws !
