¡Hola a todos los integrantes de esta comunidad y amantes de la escritura creativa! Aún continúo tomándome un descanso de la capital del país, así que he tenido la oportunidad, no sólo de dormir mejor, sino también de pasar tiempo con mi novio y mi gato 😌 pero admito que se me ha hecho difícil mantenerme alejada de mi blog jeje así que, como ya es costumbre, me senté a elaborar mi participación para el concurso.

En la actualidad, hay muchas modas que surgen y son acogidas de forma inmediata por la gente. La mayoría de esas modas son pasajeras y muchos deseamos que pasen rápido, ya que por lo general, se basan en el consumismo o actividades absurdas. En cambio, la moda de la "lectura" que ha resurgido en los últimos años, es una que debería quedarse definitivamente. Hace tiempo, si alguien leía mucho, era considerado un "bicho raro" o un "ratón de biblioteca", pero ese concepto ya se ha esfumado, ante el interés de las nuevas generaciones por leer más.

Claro, el tipo de lectura podría decirse que es lo que cuenta. Aunque yo considero que lo mejor es ser un lector interesado en cualquier libro que llegue a sus manos, más allá de que sea popular o no. Muchos libros fueron valiosos para mí, aunque no se trataban de obras conocidas.

En mi caso, mi etapa de lectora que tuvo mayor auge fue hace unos años atrás, cuando me encontraba en casa, sin acceso a internet y realizando trabajos esporádicos. Esto me daba acceso a mucho tiempo libre y como la televisión que teníamos, sólo podíamos ver canales nacionales, eso me llevó a buscar formas para distraerme en esos ratos de ocios. Por suerte, a mi casa en una ocasión había llegado una bolsa llena de libros viejos. No sé de dónde la sacó mi madre, alguien se las regaló y en ese momento, yo aproveché de leer.

Habían libros de todo tipo. En su mayoría novelas, pero todos eran de esos libros viejos, de hojas amarillas, comidas por polillas, desintegrándose, despegándosele las hojas y con un olor intenso a humedad y polvo. Leía tanto que podía pasar horas pegada a un libro, olvidando hasta de comer. Encontré fascinación por la forma en que los autores de antaño, escribían y adoré cada libro de forma individual, entre ellos Ella y él de George Sand, Casas muertas de Miguel Otero Silva, así como otras obras que me dejaron satisfecha con la decisión de comenzar a leerlos, aún sin saber de que trataban en un inicio.

Tanto así, que mi fascinación por los libros viejos me llevó a buscar de adquirirlos por bajo precio en librerías del pueblo. Por lo general, las personas que leen por moda, sólo leen los best seller o guiados por las recomendaciones que ven en las redes sociales. A mí me gusta sentir esa sensación que tuve en casa cuando hallé esa bolsa de libros, muchos de ellos sin carátula y con hojas faltantes, en dónde iba descubriendo el tesoro que tenía ante mis manos a media que iba leyendo.

Actualmente, en la capital del país hay una organización que regala libros cuando hace acto de presencia, ya he obtenido unos cuantos de autores que estaba buscando, así como me he dejado llevar por el año de publicación o por el "llamado" que me genera un libro apenas lo tomo entre mis manos. Es una sensación indescriptible.

El mundo de la lectura es fascinante, porque no sólo te proyecta a la visión del escritor, sino que amplia tu mente de una forma que las redes sociales nunca podrán. Si tienen la oportunidad de leer un libro físico, no la desaprovechen. Esa conexión sutil es de las más maravillosas que podrán llegar a experimentar ✨

Hello to all the members of this community and lovers of creative writing! I'm still taking a break from the nation's capital, so I've had the opportunity not only to sleep better, but also to spend time with my boyfriend and my cat 😌 but I admit that it's been difficult for me to stay away from my blog hehe so, as usual, I sat down to write my entry for the contest.

These days, there are many fads that emerge and are immediately embraced by people. Most of these fads are fleeting, and many of us wish they would pass quickly, as they are generally based on consumerism or absurd activities. On the other hand, the "reading" fad that has resurfaced in recent years is one that should stay put. Once upon a time, if someone read a lot, they were considered a "freak" or a "bookworm," but that concept has faded away, given the new generations' interest in reading more.

Of course, you could say the type of reading is what counts. Although I believe the best thing is to be an interested reader of any book that comes into your hands, regardless of whether it's popular or not. Many books were valuable to me, even if they weren't well-known works.

In my case, my reading phase was at its peak a few years ago, when I was at home, without internet access and working odd jobs. This gave me a lot of free time, and since we only had national television channels, we were able to watch them. Luckily, a bag full of old books arrived at my house one day. I don't know where my mother got it; someone gave them to her, and at that moment, I took advantage of the opportunity to read.

There were books of all kinds. Mostly novels, but they were all those old books, with yellowed pages, eaten by moths, disintegrating, pages peeling off, and with an intense smell of damp and dust. I read so much that I could spend hours glued to a book, forgetting even to eat. I found fascination in the way the authors of yesteryear wrote and I adored each book individually, including Ella y él by George Sand, Casas muertas by Miguel Otero Silva, as well as other works that left me satisfied with the decision to start reading them, even without knowing what they were about at first.

So much so, that my fascination with old books led me to seek out affordable bookstores in the town. Typically, people who read on a whim only read bestsellers or are guided by recommendations they see on social media. I like the feeling I had at home when I found that bag of books, many of them without covers and missing pages, where I was discovering the treasure before my eyes as I read.

Currently, in the nation's capital, there's an organization that gives away books whenever it's available. I've already obtained a few by authors I've been looking for, just as I've been guided by the year of publication or by the "call" a book generates in me as soon as I pick it up. It's an indescribable feeling.

The world of reading is fascinating because it not only projects you into the writer's vision, but it also expands your mind in ways social media never can. If you have the opportunity to read a physical book, don't pass it up. That subtle connection is one of the most wonderful you'll ever experience ✨
