Music produces a kind of pleasure which human nature cannot do without.

-Confucius

Music is with us in almost every moment on the day. It can come out of nature. Even the city setting has its own tune (maybe a little bit more chaotic than we would like, but it's musical nonetheless). It wouldn't be weird that music is embedded in a lot of the activities we do daily. Work for example is one of the sources of music.

I don't want to delve into convoluted topics since this might get bleak if I do with some genres of music, but working chants have a certain degree of history. Thats not my point here. Some of that music is great and is used for interesting tasks. For example, cattle gives more milk of they are relaxed. In Venezuelan plains there's the custom of singing to cows. This songs are a subgenre of music known as Tonada . And not only that, each cow of other kind of cattle has its own song. So there's plenty of that. It isn't like everyone songs to their animals, but I bet those are some of the best ones in the plains. Their milk must be better and they might get a happier life.

Music has the same kind of effect on people. Not for milk, but effort. Have you tried working out without music? It seems everything is a harder. Some studies say that you can enhance your endurance by listening to music that activates your brain for certain activities. That's why gyms have their techno music. You could also just listen to what you love and have the same effect.

But life in general gets easier when we listen to music. It helps cope with our commute. And what about listening to music while making a musical instrument. I think my instruments get some of those vibrations and end up with better sounds. I have no proof, but also zero doubts about it. I enjoy listening to the radio and even going through some playlists on YouTube to get my environment in tune for music making (all those puns are intended).

It helps me focus on my goals and also paces my work on such a way that I can see the differences when I'm not listening to it. It's just amazing. I know there's plenty of musicians and music lovers around here. And I would like to share my favorite playlists. I'd also like you to share yours in the comments. Maybe even say something about the music I share and others share. You might end up listening to something new that could blow your mind. And this, adding s new source of music to your life. That's never bad!

Who hasn't been saved from boredom thanks to a songs? It could lifts our spirits or helps us achieve catharsis. It depends entirely on your needs. I have a side story for this. In the time I worked in a call center, the only good thing we had was the chance of making a playlist to keep the environment at ease. It was by far the only good thing about that place besides most of my coworkers. Working in a call center is a Sysiphean task. I don't recommend it. But that just shows that even the worst things could be pushed through thanks to music. It also makes you wonder about the terrible powers this art holds. But that's a completely different topic for another time.

I'd also like to know what activities you perform whole listening to music. My list includes cooking, studying, luthierie. Maybe you don't like the distraction of music. That's totally understandable. And I would love to read all about it.

For the moment, here are some of my favorite playlists:

On this format they look like some surpise bags. That's part of the charm! Just keep in mind there's a mix of fusions, Traditional music, Jazz, Spanish music and else in here. And just a few of them. There's a whole lot more I could be listening to on a work day. And yes, I don't have Spotify. I wish.

Music definitely has a way of changing our moods, the atmosphere of a room or the productivity we are aiming at. It is powerful and can evoke emotions both sweet and sad. I've never tried working out without music but can't think of a more bland way to do it!

Ha, ha, ha, ha. I was thinking the same when I wrote that part. I have done it and it's the worst! 0/10 wouldn't recommend. It could also work to bring people together not necessarily boding, but synchronize them in settings that have their own kind of music. Sawmills and forges have rhythmic cues for many things.

Lol absolutely wouldn't recommend. I agree. I know that blacksmiths used to use rhythm in their hammering to get the same patternation into metals and the mine workers used to sing chanties with rhythm they could work to. It definitely does help that kind of thing.

Sailors and fishers do the same. And people working in fields do as well. It is a great way to cope with the labour.
