I've tried explaining this to people, and telling them the app won't just disappear. Usage will definitely drop though; your average TikTok addict won't bother downloading and installing from an APK.

You are right, you can't ban it completely but usage would drop so much it probably wouldn't matter. 90% of kids are using an Apple device. There's no practical way to install anything outside the apple store. Most people who do have Android don't know how to install via an APK.
