I think it's important, but it's impossible for everyone in a workplace to love what they do.
If they're there for the incentive, (i.e. Income,) there will be many times they're only there because they feel forced which decreases the cheerfulness of the whole work environment.
Well yes unfortunately this is often true; I'm lucky I work in a place where we laugh a lot even if, I confess, I'm working hard not to work anymore eh eh ;-)
