Hive-Tube websites

Holy crap, I woke up this morning and see that now 687 websites per week are downloading/installing our free Hive-Tube plugin. I guess people are finally leaving youtube, twitch, and twitter spaces! woohoo!! https://www.npmjs.com/package/peertube-plugin-hive-tube #hive #castgarden #youtube #twitter #twitterspaces

amazing, i didn't know this existed until today!! will be getting on this train asap! heading out on an island tour now so later yet soon!

Thanx Troy, an ex-Navy guy myself, see my profile. USS shitty kitty, CVIC, Photo Lab, Snoopy Team and ASF (auxiliary security force) 5 years, 2 westpacs, shellback.

Anyway, if you know of any podcasters or livestreamers who'd like to get Hive monetized and free syndication of their streams P2P, just have them ping me and I'll be happy to make a channel on https://cast.garden for them real quick. CastGarden runs the latest version of Hive-Tube of course.

Amazing thanks for sharing shipmate lol i did 1 med cruise myself in 99', great to meet you and look forward to sending some folks your way starting with @clove71 & @bobthebuilder2 !! This has me thinking of a gaming streaming outpost if we don't have one on Hive with hive-tube or cast garden, i need to dive in and learn more!

Happy to help Troy, so u guys can just ping me on agorise.chat (our chat room) or by email at [email protected] when ready then so we can get underway. Thanx! 💪

I tried to understand how hive-tube works. I'm a YouTuber with 9 channels...so I download a file, then I'm set? Do you have it set up to pay continuously or only the first 7 days like Hive? That's been my biggest contention with Hive is the "only get paid for 7 days" issue...I make evergreen content, mostly, so if I only get paid for the first 7 days, I'll keep going to places like YT...

Ok, so first let me address your 7-day thing with Hive. A profitable blockchain like Hive does not have "unlimited" money like in some ponzi scheme or something. If you have a bowl full of pennies and the owner of that bowl full of pennies promises everyone that they will get passive income from that bowl forever, he is a liar. Income is not perpetual, so input (like our labor) needs to generate the value that everyone can (and would like to) benefit from. So, having that 7-day limit means that you do not have to worry about that bowl guy running off with your money and breaking his promise of perpetual pennies.

The 7-day limit on Hive is not an issue, it's a sustainable profit model.

Next thing is what Hive-Tube is. It's a free server plugin. Check out https://Hive-Tube.com if you get a chance. So, depending on the content of your 9 youtube channels, you could get it syndicated, monetized and streamed out P2P from an existing Hive-Tube site like vigilante.tv, beetoons.tv, cast.garden, permalife.tv, etc OR run your own server (we can provide dedicated hosting too if you're interested) under your own domain name.

Keep in mind, that if you engage with your viewers/listeners in the comments of your videos, you will most likely increase your income quite a bit because your audience will most likely be upvoting your comments too.

So, a video that you posted years ago can still earn you some income.

What really drove me to build Hive-Tube and stop watching so much youtube was all the damn ads. Nevermind all the narrative-enforcement, demonetization of the youtubers that I like, shadow-banning, theft of youtuber earnings, getting unsubscribed from my favorite channels, not getting the notifications, accounts being deleted/banned entirely, even the youtubers themselves having to sell-out to advertisers and push their products, ever-increasing KYC with paypal and patreon and their ability to lock up your earnings... the list goes on and on and on...

At least with Hive-Tube you won't have to worry about that stuff and can just build out your business, at least in-parallel right now on the Hive chain and if you don't want the Hive earnings at all, you can always turn off the monetization in Hive-Tube if you like by simply checking a box in the settings, easy-peezy.

I'll be happy to set you up with a free channel on https://cast.garden for now (a brand new site I just launched a couple of weeks ago) if you like. I'll make it "pretty" in a couple weeks, but for now the site rocks so at least you can get acquainted with Hive-Tube and see how your videos stream on there (livestream too if you like), gets syndicated, p2p streamed, podpings sent out to all the podcasting apps, Hive-monetized if you like, 4K video, 320K audio, the works. Let me know and I'll make the channel for you real quick and send you a link (just let me know which YT channel you want it to syndicate).

Our chat room is at http://agorise.chat or you can email us at [email protected]

Thanx Bob, hope to chat soon! 💪🤠

Ok, so you haven't found a way to extend the earnings from a video, it's still connected to the 7 day upvote period from what I've read. It's just clarification-neither good or bad...

I've wanted to find something like YouTube that my content can continue earning strictly from views, but that only works if there are ads or someone willing to compensate perpetually...that's also why I keep posting there instead of on Hive. I have posted a few of my videos on the chain in the past for the couple bucks up front. Pretty much at this point, though, it seems that the only videos that I could perpetuate earnings from would be videos with affiliate links for people to purchase stuff I discuss in the video...this way it is still an evergreen video with links to perpetual income possibilities. Then, the only concern is how few there are watching. Having done videos for nearly a decade, I know it takes time to build a following, even on the largest platform. I'll take a look at cast.garden...Before I start posting on one of these video platforms, I just want to make sure it will have the name that can grow it to a larger viewership. With only 7 days of earnings possibilities and a site revisit rate of a few people, it isn't enticing yet...I know...egg meet chicken and vice versa.

I'm intrigued...

Thank you for the additional information, @kencode. As I have been reviewing Hive-Tube and Agorise, I needed clarity between unstoppable income and "perpetual income," which is a common question on Hive because of the seven-day payout system. This is now clear -- although Hive's limits are what they are, no other entity or person can stop your income because of censorship, and, one has the opportunity to deepen one's audience through connection with the Fediverse, an opportunity best captured through engagement with commenters. Same length of time, much wider and deeper reach possible.

I see the link to the chat and your email, so if I have further questions I will address them to you at either of those portals.

Exactly. Most people don't get that. They don't seem to understand how a profitable company works either and it seems I constantly have to explain it. I apologize for my overly defensive posture regarding Hive. I see those comments all over the place, people thinking that the Hive community is somehow able to cut off their income after 7 days or something is just wrong.

I can understand your frustration. Hive is worth defending. But remember: people's minds are still needing to transition to understand this thing called Hive. From my research, you have been here at least six years. I have been here four. To us, seeing the opportunity is like seeing the world we live in... because we do. We have chosen Hive. Other people see Hive, but the learning curve is steep if all you know is workaday world, not in business, not in the military. I was a professional researcher, so, in a day's time I can get around what is peertube, Hive-Tube, Cast.Garden, the Fediverse. But for all the wonderful reasons there are to build and be on Hive, if asking a question is a mistake, most people will not persevere to an answer ... and musicians and artists, who I know you care about, are especially sensitive souls.

I accept your apology, and I do like what I am seeing as the picture comes together. I have quite a bit of music on YouTube that might go well on Cast.Garden, and I am doing a series on my experiences in crypto and how to get started that might fit well. I also read that Hive-Tube is looking for someone to run a Hive-Tube page for musicians and artists, and I might be able to hook someone up with you on Hive who might be interested. I need to make sure I understand so YOU don't have to do all that extra explaining, though, so if I have any further questions, I will email you.

It's nice to know there is someone out there like you @deeanndmathews who has the patience to explain these things to people. Make it "grandma-friendly" for them as I always say.

I do love Meetups however and meeting new people. Ask me about something I am passionate about and I'll talk your ear off.

The 7-day "limit" comment comes up a lot, it feels like a btc maxi troll trying to talk me out of Hive and talk up their coin. I actually bookmarked that reply I sent to you since it comes up so often. So I have this "don't mess with my Hive!" defense mechanism now.

For me this stuff is second nature. I've been running businesses and releasing software products since 1993 so for me to explain to someone again and again how money works and why UX is so important etc becomes, well, annoying. I worked a Tech Support job for 1 day once if that tells you anything about me hehe ;)

Thanx for your understanding (Dee?), ping me any time if you need anything. 😊

There is a reason everybody loves Grandma ... but also why business needs harder-driving, get-it-done, no-nonsense types as well. Because Hive is an organic community, there is room for both!

BTC maxis are annoying ... I liken them to cult members ... but most new Hivers are just thrown by coming into an environment in which working vertically to maximize the seven days is so new ... as if someone were to take a sailing vessel suitable for my local bay and try to round the Cape of Good Hope with it ... that would lead to some flailing around in the water, but they actually are not trying to drown anyone or even baptize anyone into their cult like the BTC maxis, although I imagine you must just get tired of being splashed and dragged into the same conversation, over and over and over again ...

Dee, or Deeann, are both fine. I have been dubbed "Ms. Dee" by so many friends and students that it has stuck, so I use it as my brand name, if you will. I presume your name is Kenneth and you prefer Ken ...

Wow this is super amazing, i just checked it out now

Good job mate @kencode

That’s great progress isn’t it. I’m keen to have a look at the plugin to see if I can use it in any way for my coding blog which is at nicklewis.github.io

Well for blogging (pictures and text) it's best to use d.buzz, hive.blog, ecency.com or peakd.com imo... one of the sites that are catered to that kind of content. It's all Hive though so it's all good :)

💪😊😁😎🤙 Woohoo! that's some awesome news! may that keep up too!

fantstic!

@tipu curate

Why have I never heard about this?

Does a collab with 3speak would be feasible or is it a competitor?

Well, 3Speak is syndicating their CTT Podcasts on Cast.Garden (a Hive-Tube based site) so I would not think of 3Speak as a competitor. I'd prefer that we work together so that 3Speak can completely kick Youtube ass. Like really kick it, hard. Add P2P & Fediverse syndication too.
