It's great that people can earn income though crypto, but also a stark reminder that crypto is a commodity, like wheat and oil and meats, and not currency until you convert it to one. Determining how much to convert and when is a guess, so know what to look for that makes your guesses better. The vast majority of people around me lose more than they should because they are reactive instead of proactive, since the latter takes work.
I wish you well. As for me, I'm assessing why the perceived value has dipped some to determine if it's a good time to buy and make some relatively short-term gains.

Learn to trade both directions and you will be able to profit either way the price goes. Now that doesn’t help with Hive and that’s why people really need to look outside of the Hive ecosystem. Hive is struggling hard this cycle.
Yes, Hive is very weak because those who make the project do not spend money on advertising. They trust the reference system more, but it is not a system that works that well.
It works well, just not on Hive because people here are really more just about making their own bags than trying to help be apart of something bigger. There are projects that have paid for advertising and not much came of it. Hell, there have even been DHF proposals for marketing but they don’t get passed because the Hive cabal doesn’t want any new users. The whales want to keep sucking up all the big rewards.
If people want Hive to grow, they need to help it out. It can’t be just on the project owners. But that takes actually getting out there and trying to make things happen instead of waiting for someone else to do it. I say if you hold stake in a tribe or project on Hive, you should be helping promote to help your own account value, but most don’t see it that way.
You will have those few die hard users who basically have their entire financial life staked here, but long term is not looking promising. The lack of activity speaks for itself.
