Probably because zcash uses ZEROCASH, a technology from darpa
Also, IMHO, zcash is better for many reasons.
Interesting, thank you for that information.
It may also be because $ZEC is not private by default, making it easier to track fthose who do chose privacy on #Zcash.
Not 100% sure, but that's my hunch.
