Out of the storm - watercolours on paper

Hello everyone Hivers and welcome back to my blog. Today I am back to share my favourite subject, the stormy seascape. Many customers ask me why I often portray seascapes with rough seas or sea storms, but I can't explain it.

Ever since I was a child, I used to spend hours observing the waves of the sea, I could feel the movement of them inside my soul and still today I can spend an eternity observing the sea in all its aspects. Scientists of the mind say that looking at the sea helps to regenerate the mind and find inner peace, and when I paint waves and storms I feel a strong satisfaction in my psyche.

After this psychological dissertation I return to show you the subject I painted and as you can see it is a fishing boat coming out of a difficult weather situation.

I liked the idea of highlighting the bow of the fishing boat coming towards a calmer sea.

So I very patiently took care of the fishing boat to get it out of the waves.

I deliberately left the surface of the white paper rough or scratched it to give the illusion of the multiple sprays of sea salt in the air.

Finally, I painted the sky by overlapping colours until I reached indigo and payne grey mixed with purple to get a part of the stormy sky.

Fuoriuscito dalla tempesta - acquarelli su carta

Ciao a tutti cari amici Hivers e bentornati sul mio blog. Oggi torno a condividere il mio soggetto preferito, il paesaggio di mare in burrasca. Molti clienti mi domandano perchè ritraggo spesso i paesaggi marini con il mare mosso o tempeste marine, ma non riesco a spiegarmelo. Fin da bambino restavo le ore ad osservare le onde del mare, sentivo il movimento di esse dentro la mia anima ed ancora oggi posso stare un'eternità ad osservare il mare in tutti i suoi aspetti. Gli scienziati della mente dicono che guardare il mare aiuta a rigenerare la mente ed a trovare una pace interiore, e quando dipingo onde e tempeste provo una forte soddisfazione nella mia psiche. Dopo questa dissertazione psicologica torno a mostrarvi il soggetto che ho dipinto e come potete vedere si tratta di un peschereccio che fuoriesce da una situazione meteorologica difficile. Mi piaceva l'idea di evidenziare la prua del peschereccio che ci viene incontro verso un mare più calmo. Così ho curato con molta pazienza la barca da pesca per farla uscire dalle onde. Ho volutamente lasciato grezza o graffiato la superficie del foglio bianco per dare l'illusione dei molteplici spruzzi di salsedine marina nell'aria. Infine ho dipinto il cielo per sovrapposizioni di colori fino ad arrivare all'indigo e al grigio di payne mescolato con il viola per avere una parte di cielo tempestoso.
