He was an amazing guy, and The Eagles really benefited from his talents as did Linda... Those are great songs you picked. I don't recall JD as a solo artist but much of it was really before my time, but I instantly recognized the name when you mentioned it. That last one really did kind of have that Orbison to it, that was a great song and new to me. Great job!
Yeah, it is a really good song. Probably not as well known as some of the other ones he has written. I know some of his stuff, but I probably don't know as much as I pretend to know when writing this post!
I’ve heard some of JD Souther's songs, but I didn’t know much about his background.I can relate to the themes in “Her Town Too,” like navigating relationships in a small community. It makes me appreciate the storytelling in music even more. I’ll definitely check out more of his work.

I like the Eagles, but didn't know about him. I see what you mean about that last one sounding like Orbison.
I knew of him mostly because of his work with James Taylor. I didn't realize he was so entwined with the Eagles.
