Five centuries ago, the Andes were filled with suspension bridges. It is believed that there were two hundred of them. In Peru, suspension bridges were made of vegetable fiber.

The design of the suspension, cable-stayed bridge of the Incas, consists of 4 parallel ropes of vines. Each of which includes 3 intertwined cords.

Two additional suspended ropes, they are much thinner, form a handrail and are connected to the bridge by a system of vertical channels located close to each other, forming a support in the form of a balustrade to ensure the safety of the bridge.
