A cooler day after the shocker from yesterday. Still feeling the effects of the heat and humidity. Had it in my head to go into the city to do the Christmas tourist thing. Spent the morning doing investing accounts and the weekly investing post
Went into the city after lunch - took the Metro to new Martin Place station as the start of the tourist walk
View of Sky Tower from the station entrance
Photo theme for the day - up high - Westpac Bank
Cafe Paradiso in MLC Centre where I first met my wife face to face
Martin Place Christmas tree
Two views of Bank of New South Wales bank
Tram to hide the people on the ground level
Walked through Strand Arcade from the 1880s
Another Sky Tower view
Using the tram to highlight the old buildings
Walk through the Queen Victoria Building is a must for the Christmas tree - and the clocks
Clock on the other side
Always a stop at hobby shop to see the model trains - like the name of the station - Doonuthin
The tree does not start from the ground floor - some Aboriginal city/tree shapes
The front of QVB
Queen Victoria in front and 2 Park Street behind - site of my last ever office building
Walked down to Darling Harbour to meet up with my wife - front on photo of Westin Hotel - like the wings of a butterfly
Cockle Bay Wharf stork (brolga) sculpture
It is Christmas - and the W behind
View from Pyrmont Bridge to Barangaroo and two Manly Fast Ferries
Maritime museum statue with James Craig masts and Barangaroo behind
Been meaning to take photos of this wooden boat in front of my wife's office for a while
We stopped for a beer in the coffee shop - Christmas tree in the lobby
Good to get a lift home
Dinner: Pasta with chicken and chorizo and a touch of tomato - worked well

What impressed me more is the perfect reflection on the sky towers, it's like a mirror, it's beautiful, I don't get to see that here... But I guess birds smash on it?
I do not often go into the city. Have lived on the edge of big cities all my life. The looking up is about looking for the escape out. The big blue always works for that
The sky tower looks very tall mehn
That’s awesome!
The tower is 309 metres. An interesting number as that is the same height as the ride I do from Cowan Creek to where we live. Could take an elevator if there was one
Wow
That’s fantastic
Sydney city is very beautiful and the buildings are very smart. It is a clean city. Amazing photography
