Making the Most out of Cut Steel Plate! My Actifit Report Card: June 12 2025

in Actifit13 days ago (edited)

We cut a couple circles and circles with a ping pong racket looking handle on our CNC metal cutting plasma table. But to get some extra use out of the material, I always lay out some circles or trying littles or squares. These pieces can be used in other projects.

Which leaves us with what we call skeleton pieces, usually destined for the metal recycler. But laying out these shapes symmetrically. I almost want to clean them up. Give them a paint and hang the on the wall.

We'll see if I can make some time to salvage something out of these skeleton pieces. They're just a little heavy for hanging on the wall, ones out of 3/8 thick steel plate and the other one out of quarter inch thick steel plate.

We'll see I guess!

That was a good idea, came out well, could be used somehow to decorate a fence too

Kind of love the idea of turning scrap into something worth hanging. It's actually like the beginnings of art made by accident.

It serves as decoration for something else you do, everything is useful, as long as you think of where to use it, you can keep it.
