such a windy day : January 15 2025

for this wednesday walk, this nightwalker decided to go to the nearby park by the river. i gave my word to my housemate earlier that we will go to the gym for a back session later that night, so might as well just go somewhere close. this park was indeed just close by, i will be back early for the scheduled gym day.

by the way, that tree in the middle of the field looked so lonely.

the moment i stepped out the comforts of my dear home, there and then i found out how bad a decision that was. i surely checked the weather tonight, no rains and temperature not that cold. but oh my, the wind was crazy strong. it was quite hard to push forward at some point. and with a strong wind, the temperature tend to be lower than forecasted.

this park is normally used by joggers or any fitness enthusiast for a quick cardio fix. but now it was quite empty. i could just count in one hand how many were there. one came from the park entrance pushing a stroller which apparently had a dog instead of a baby. how i could tell? it barked!

another came in from the side with a big black dog on a leash. they went in the wide field in the middle. i'm pretty sure the dog will relieve himself when he reaches his "spot". dogs establish that "spot" don't they?

and the last one i saw was this person on a bike. i immediately took out my phone, in my post yesterday i had quite an obsession of taking a great picture of a person on a bike. today might be it. but still no! perhaps tomorrow...

the streamlet is still waterless when i came. i knew fully well though that it will be bone dry, this stream will only have water on summer. so i left the park and went home.

went to the gym after that and had a great "back" workout. since it has been a while, i am pretty sure i will have muscle sores by tomorrow. oh well, it is expected. here is my routine just in case you get interested. i will be more than happy if i do influence you to move around and strive to be healthy.

pull ups (10 x 12)
barbell bent-over row (50kg x 3 x 12) <- lowered from 70kg
shrugs (55kg x 3 x 20)
chest supported bumbbell row (35kg x 3 x 12)
single arm seated row (43kg x 3 x 12 per arm)
a set each of the following with no rest between sets

  • face pull (18kg x 3 x 12)
  • straight arm pulldown (22.7kg x 3 x 12)

reverse fly (32kg x 3 x 12)
lat pulldown (50kg x 3 x 12)
