Stormclouds were gathering as we left the island as usual this afternoon to start the long drive to Bangkok, except this weekend will definitely be the final time.
All the travelling a crazy hard work has caught up with bus and we're knackered. We have plenty of cases in Samui now to keep us busy, so it's time to finally cut Bangkok's apron strings.
I was hoping for a final magnificent sunset, the type the 5pm crossing is famous for, but instead, the storm clouds gathered, and it was rather gloomy. No matter even in the gloom, the view of the mountains and trees is something I can never get bored with.
It's odd because much as I've whinged and moaned and creaked and ached at this trip since January, I've got used to it, and now things change again!
So I think I'll just enjoy the ride this weekend, and hope for a better sunrise on the 5am boat on Monday. Everyone else will be happy not to have to see similar pictures week in, week out!
