My Actifit Report Card: January 22 2023

in Actifitlast year

I was very happy to get an even score in the tournament today. This was a good score for me on this course with the green tee pad location. My friend scored very low too and was happy with his playing. (Low scores are better in disc golf.)

I ended up with the win in my division. I've been doing well in tournaments and celebrated by picking up a couple of new discs with my scrip winnings. I got the last Wave disc they had and a D3. The Wave is a nice greenish-purple metal flake MVP disc. It seems like they have been selling a lot of MVP discs recently. The D3 is close to max weight so it might be a bit too overstable for max distance on a backhand for me but might be nice in the wind and for a forehand throw.

My back and arm were feeling great and the new disc golf cart was a lot of help in keeping the weight off my back.

This week I might work on my throwing power a little if I feel up to it. I'm planning on working on timing and how I use my body versus trying to throw harder with my arm.

A disc golf birdie:

I birdied this hole for the first time off the green tee pad location. This is a difficult uphill location and you don't want to be in the forest to the left or right. The hyzer line approach looks very attractive but if you mess up it can hit a tree root and turn up on an edge and roll all the way downhill and out of bounds. (Trust me, I have had that experience.)

Today I threw right at it with my straightest flying disc the Crave and parked it on the hill right in front of the basket. The disc landed flat and stuck right where it landed from a turnover shot.

It goes to show that you did well preparing for your tournament, congrats man!

Reading your posts makes me believe that Disc Golf is a fun sport to play. What you said about practicing your body versus trying to throw harder with your arm; I think this is a good skill to hone because it will lessen the stress on your arm. I may not be a sports person but I often hear that advice from experts; you're definitely on the right track. Keep it up :)

Hope you enjoy a wounderful day.Picture looks pretty attractive.

I'm glad to hear that you're back playing golf in today's tournament and moreover getting a point draw like you said that's a very good score, and your back is feeling better again after a few breaks and hopefully it continues to improve so you can return to playing golf with the best performance

Glad you did well. I know that has to feel really good.

It does feel nice, I usually don't do too well in athletic things. I'm a little better about getting less nervous at tournaments but it still seems like I could do better if I learned to relax more.

I have to try this some day.

It is a lot of fun and good exercise. I recommend disc golf it is easy to get started in and hard to master.

And you don’t need a bunch of expensive Golf clubs and other gear.

I think that is one of the best aspects of the game. There are some nice moderately priced three disc starter packs now that you can use to get started. I played for a long time with just a few discs that were gifted to me and a couple I purchased. I made the usual mistakes when picking out my first discs but it was all good fun.

Every victory generates a lot of happiness and you @lightsplasher showed it by obtaining an even score in today's tournament, which you consider a success due to your good score. Of course, that excites us a lot. Go ahead, obtaining triumph and satisfaction. Greetings from Venezuela.

Greeting from the USA, I hope everything is fine with you in Venezuela. It does generate a lot of happiness and it gives me something to improve on. There is a wonderful local community that enjoys disc golf so it is also a nice social outlet.

That's right, dear, your community has been very valuable to you, it also contributes to publishing what you like, your favorite disc game, so it's a double satisfaction. Thank you for always supporting my favorite action yoga, which has been a positive factor in improving my health, which I share by making and posting about food. From Venezuela I wish you much success.
