The night had been relentlessly rainy, the streets soaked, cold, and puddle-filled. I walked the Palace Gardens route, sticking close to the castle’s stone walls to avoid the wet chaos underfoot. As I neared the building, I couldn't resist glancing through the first window through the many doors into the vast depth of the East Wing. The view felt like seeing through many dimensions, a space so deep it seemed to breathe. I continued along the edge, the castle always to my left, until I reached one of the paths leading into the garden's parterre. The rhythm of my breath steadied in the stillness of the Luiseninsel water. After a few intense moments of quiet meditation, I quickly retreated to the warmth, eager to escape the relentless dampness outside.
