It was “break” time, Silvertop spent the morning mixing, and pouring concrete, and I was looking forward to a relaxing hike up into the mountains!😅
We have several off grid cabins on Silvertop’s road……………….
Many years ago, this street was an old logging road. Then in the 70’s, it became known for off grid homes, many built by people that were looking to drop out of society………………….
This was the “Hippie generation”!
U.S border patrol planes would regularly fly over this section of the cascade mountains of Northwest Washington looking for grow-ops…………they still fly regularly to this day!🙄
One of these cabins in now owned by my Canadian friend Grant!😊
It has been a while since I checked on his cabin, so I took a detour across his wooden footbridge to see if everything was still safely locked!😇
You see this bridge that you can see in my post, crosses a small stream.
This is the ONLY way in, or out, on foot!😇
Car parking is only on the road side of the bridge! Everything from building materials, to furniture must be walked across this bridge!😳
Grant has an eclectic style of decorating his slice of the forest! He has many Gnomes with tiny multicolored “tree house” front doors!
You need to look very quickly….. these Gnomes are very shy around “ Large humans” Lol!😇
Apparently even PEPE the Frog has taken up residence in Grants forest!🤣
I spotted a new rain catchment barrel, this is his only source of water.
I’m sure PEPE the Frog loves a barrel full of water Lol!☺️
Then I hiked Grants network of trails to Paul’s old elevated tree house. Sadly after Paul passed this tree house started to fall into disrepair!😳
The new owners are planning to tear it down soon……….
Now days, most of the homes on Silvertop’s old logging road, are modern homes tucked away deep in the forest.
You can hear your neighbors, but you can’t see anyone, or anything, the forest is so thick!😇
Not even the Cougars!😳😺

Great exercise you got in there yesterday. Mixing concrete is hard work... Haven't done that in a few years.
It must be nice to be so far from the city... Very few close by neighbors!
It’s very secluded, it has its benefits……. come winter time the snowplow completely forgets our street for weeks at a time!🙄
No Garbage pick up, firetrucks could never make it up our street. We are at the end of the world Lol🤣😇
That gives me an idea!!! I'll look around... may take a year, hehehe!!
